Sorry this pro can’t do your job, but we know other pros who can.
Introduction: I am a former university music professor and multi-disciplinary musician who has been teaching privately for over 35 years. My passion is to help students of all ages and levels discover the joy of music! I want my students to love making music and to love practicing, so I work hard to make learning and practicing joyful and mindful rather than a boring chore, and to break down barriers to learning. I love teaching students of all ages and backgrounds! I teach in my home studio off of 158 Business between Henderson and Oxford. I also teach in a host home in Wake Forest on Tuesday afternoon/evening and a host home south of Garner on Thursday afternoons. I currently have afternoon and evening openings on Mondays and Wednesdays in studio and limited openings in Wake Forest and Garner--please contact me to find a convenient time for a meet & greet/trial lesson! Please see my website and email or call me with any questions. Tuition is by the academic year (33 30-minute lessons over ten months starting in late August, $125 paid monthly September-May; Thumbtack does not allow me to quote this way, so the 'hourly price' is approximate). If my location is too far for you, please respond 'no thanks' so that Thumbtack does not charge me. I would love to meet you and see if we have a rapport! Dr. Patricia Warren

Dr. Warren has the back of listening to the older student who simply wants to sing with her to condition her voice, and relearned notes and counting beats. I recommend her for any short-term program.

Dr. Warren is an excellent teacher. She has a tremendous amount of experience singing, teaching, directing choirs, and has a winning personality on top of it all. I am a total beginner when it comes to singing and I feel very comfortable in her presence. For someone with more experience, she can easily take you to the next level.

I am an older adult voice student who has been working with Dr. Warren for several months. I contacted her initially because I wanted to get my voice back in shape for choral singing after not being in a choir/concert chorus for many years. She has been wonderful to work with! -- always positive, with a great sense of humor and lovely mezzo soprano voice as well-- giving me vocalises and songs that are expanding my range slowly but surely. It is especially helpful that she can demonstrate vocal techniques with her own well-developed voice, so that one can both observe mouth positions and hear desired sounds. With a doctorate in Musical Arts and more than 30 years of experience in voice training, choral conducting, and church music ministries, Dr. Warren has been able to answer every musical question I've ever asked her, and add to my musical knowledge with many other details about composers, musical scores, and repertoire. On occasion, she is enjoyably assisted in her teaching by her husband's beautiful red eclectus parrot in the next room who says a friendly "hello" or injects a whistle (of purity to be envied!) into a student's scale or song. I can't imagine any student who would not benefit from her encouragement and teaching style.
