Done what he said he would, when he said he would, and how he said he would. In my book, that is outstanding! Hard to find a man you can count on to do those 3 things these days. Now I have a great looking new 350ft driveway instead of a muddy, rutted dirt rd. And at a good price.

I love my beautiful new bench setting area! I was afraid my job would not be of importance because it was small in comparison to their other jobs, but I was wrong. Working with contractors can be "difficult", but not these professionals, everything was complete on time! They exceeded my expectations and I am so thankful for choosing Lazzari Construction. Next on my list, built-ins!

The project went smoothly and done in a timely manner. Frank the project manager also helped supervise the work of other contractors ie: carpet installation. I am strongly considering to have FCC do an additional project. I may have had cheaper quotes but by having full coverage insurance and a committed attitude I felt FCC would provide the best overall value.

David and his crew professionally assessed the requirements that would have to be done in order to finish a job started by a handyman who turned out to be not as handy as he promised. David gave me a fair and honest appraisal of what needed to be accomplished in order to finish the job-in-progress. His candor, without impugning the capabilities or honesty of the initial individual, gave me a very good idea of what needed to be done to get back on track and how long it would take, along with an accurate estimate of the overall costs. David said he'd be done in two weeks and he was, unlike the first person who also promised two weeks then disappeared after milking me of the quoted money over a three month period, leaving a disaster, and completely disappearing. To say that I am happy with David's work is an understatement. He did what he said he would and did it very well. Outstanding is closer to describing his work and the results. My only regret is that I did not think of him initially. We would have a great building but it would have cost a lot less. I am grateful to David and his crew for cleaning up the mess left by another, and making everything right. When I saw David's name on Thumbtack I recognized it and immediately confirmed that he was the man who routinely maintained the duplex we rented when we first transferred to this area about 20 years ago. While we lived in it, he did a super job maintaining the duplex. For those who don't know, having a house on the beach may sound romantic but the romance comes at a very high maintenance price; the environment is flat-out hard on structures and vehicles. David did a superb job then and his quality of work has only improved. If you need his services, I very highly recommend him as the go to guy. Don't make the mistake I did; you will get the quality of work for which you are willing to pay. I found David to be fair and honest. His crew work hard and are as professional as he. What more could you ask?

Excellent service, communication, and attention to detail. This was a small repair job for my POA that turned into a more time consuming and labor intensive job than expected. The original plan was to re-use existing bollard poles at our gate call box and re-set them in concrete after they were hit. Due to the way the old poles were originally installed this ended up not being possible. The job then became the removal of the old poles and setting materials, the creation of a new, level area to tie into surrounding hard scape, re-installation of new poles and a new concrete pad, secure placement of sensitive wiring, appropriate safety paint and job clean up. This was all done very professionally and looks amazing. I would not hesitate to hire Charles again for any work needed by my POA.

We take pride in helping the customer. We know a job such as a new roof can be VERY expensive and we take every measure to keep our cost down , while at the same time being sure we can supply a quality job. We know there are A LOT of other people doing this type of work. Therefore we try to set ourselves apart by offering FREE repair for a set amount of years. LEts say you get a new roof and in 4 years a few shingles blow off in a major storm. Many people will charge you to replace those shingles..(House call) we fix them FREE We also are very conscientious about how we dispose of material. To many contractors try and cut corners when it comes to doing this. We almost ALWAYS have a dumpster deliver to our site, so that our customers know EXACTLY where the waste material is going.. TO THE DUMP! (Check out our BLOG on our web page fro more info on this)

    About

I can think of a few ways. With every job we have great prices. Very few companies can match our prices. When it comes to roofing we lay every roof the same as we would up north where snow and ice are common. We feel added protection is a good thing! We also offer a 20 year warranty on every new architect shingle roof (5 year on 3 tab). If you loose any shingles and your home owners insurance refuses to pay we fix it FREE OF CHARGE. We also cover any leaks during this time! No house call fees apply! On our fences we "home build" every fence. We do not use store bought panels. This allows us to follow more closely the contour of your ground. Nails over time may work loose as boards are exposed to the elements. On our fences every wooden board is secured with screws AND staples. NOT SIMPLY NAILS! We also only charge for materials as a down payment. Many companies want half down PLUS materials. We feel this is unfair. We sometimes ask for a "payment" schedule when it comes to our labor but never for HALF DOWN!

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How do you find a good concrete contractor?

Concrete contractors pave driveways, build foundations for homes, install retaining walls, create hardscaping for front and back yards, build concrete steps, and so much more. When searching for a driveway contractor, read reviews from previous customers and ask for referrals. Ask the contractor for photos of examples of their work that’s similar to what you want. Confirm they will get the proper permits so your driveway is up to code. Hiring a driveway contractor to install concrete can average $5-$6 per square foot, or more, depending on where you live, the slope and grade of the driveway site, and regional labor costs. For a new asphalt driveway, the cost could average from $3-5 per square foot. A standard concrete driveway of 500 square feet averaging $5-$6 per square foot would cost $2,500-$3,000 — so it pays to research someone who will do quality work. Excavation and grading work can increase your cost per square foot significantly. Ask whether the contractor provides a materials and labor warranty for their work. Some cracking of the concrete may occur as it settles, but you should talk with your contractor about any structural or aesthetic concerns you have. When hiring a concrete contractor, check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to redo a concrete driveway?

Replacing or renovating a damaged or time-worn asphalt or concrete driveway can boost your curb appeal and add to your home value. If your concrete driveway is nearing 20 years or more, it may be wise to invest in an entirely new driveway, instead of redoing your current one. Asphalt driveways average 15-20 years of life, so if you start needing major repairs around the 15 year mark, weigh the pros and cons of repairing or replacing it. Request bids from two to three driveway contractors to determine pricing and project scope, and check out our tips for smart hiring on Thumbtack. Here are some examples of average costs:

    • The national average cost to hire a concrete specialist is $2,750, but that price can vary greatly depending on the work needed to repair and resurface your concrete driveway, the square footage of the project, current costs of concrete, and regional labor rates.
    • Driveway contractors average $2-$3 per square foot to smooth and resurface your asphalt driveway.
    • Resurfacing concrete driveways averages $3-$10 per square foot. Pricing can depend on repairs needed, project size and geographic location.
    • Nationally, the average cost for resurfacing a 500-square-foot driveway ranges from $2,000 to $5,000.
    • Sealant for a concrete drive can cost $20-$80 per gallon.
    • Sealant for an asphalt drive averages 25 cents per square foot.

    What do paving contractors do?

Paving contractors can be hired to install a concrete or asphalt driveway at your home, office or property. They can also repave an asphalt or concrete driveway that has been damaged by time, weather or heavy loads. When you are looking for a driveway contractor, request quotes from at least three professionals who are in good standing and have great customer reviews. They should do a site visit and write you a bid, detailing the work involved, materials needed, approximate length of the project and estimated cost.

The site for your new driveway will determine costs and the work required for your contractor. First, the ground must be excavated to lay a clear path. This means removing any trees, bushes and stumps. Next, the driveway contractor will grade the area, making a level surface for the concrete or asphalt. To ensure proper drainage, driveway contractors should install a sub-base of compacted gravel (or similar) 4 inches-8 inches deep, depending on your soil type. Then the concrete or asphalt may be poured and smoothed over the top. Your driveway contractor should recommend an appropriate sealant for your climate and advise you on curing time.
