About this pro
Ours is a multi-faceted approach to creating positive change in our community. We want to help shift the conversation from judgment to acceptance and each of our services contributes to this goal. By teaching others how to save lives, empower women to minimize unequal treatment, and help couples create new collective journeys, we help our community focus more on our similarities and less on our differences. I love being able to share in the creation of a "new canvas of life". When I can help others see the incredible benefits that saving someone's life creates, their perspectives shift. During the finance classes, the looks of amazement and clarity bring a warmth to my heart. And when I can help two people join their paths by creating and speaking just the right words, their hearts and minds open to the possibility of new beginnings. The new shared path that they will walk, my heart sings right along with them.
Max was beyond helpful with planning the ceremony and suggestions for our wedding. He was open to anything we wanted to do or leave out. He genuinely gets to know the couple and cares that their wedding and marriage is a success!Nov 27, 2014Verified
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Having discussed how best to price our services with numerous minsters, priests, and officiants, I found a wide range of opinions. Some say, charge nothing and just ask for a donation to their church (or favorite charity). Others say charge a significant amount so that potential brides and grooms will appreciate the value of your services. We say charge a fair price that covers our time, travel, and expertise. Ours is not a commodity that can be simply valued by a market analysis - it's a more personal touch.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Regardless of how we are introduced, my first goal is always to establish an environment of trust. My preference is always to meet in person and when we do, I begin by asking some questions about the couple's vision of the event (or, in the case of one of our classes, what they hope to learn). I offer to continue the conversation by email, telephone, or text, with the objective being to achieve a high level of trust and comfort.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?As a minister, I hold a Doctor of Christian Studies, a Master of Christian Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. As an instructor, I am certified by the American Red Cross to teach Basic and Advanced First Aid, CPR/AED, and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers. Additionally, I am in the process of completing the requirements to become a Wilderness First Aid and Babysitting Instructor.
