  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I charge $50/hour. I bill in 1/2 hour increments from the time I leave until the time the work is complete. I do not mark-up hardware components, and typically do not even provide them. Instead, I help the customer choose the correct hardware, and help them find the best price. They then purchase it directly, so that there is no question of mark-up.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

It depends on what the customer needs. Typically a conversation is all that is needed to get started.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have worked in Computers (now IT) since 1995. I have been everything from a technician to the vice-president of a large national computer company. My most recent position was the executive director and CIO of a mid-sized non-profit.
