Larry O'Brien has owned and operated the Dance Machine Mobile DJ Service since 1990. I had the greatest experience with Larry being the DJ for our wedding at a barn reception near Moorhead, MN. He was very professional and organized with all pre-planning decisions. He was EXCELLENT at feeling the vibe of the crowd and tailoring the soundtrack to fit the mood. I have been to weddings where there was equipment failure, songs that nobody knows and even a wedding where the DJ stole the limelight annoying the guests. It was so refreshing to have a professional DJ that kept the bride and groom in the spotlight. He was very creative in coming up with different "between song games" that kept our guests on their feet and entertained. If our guests weren't on the dance floor, they were at the bar and if they were at the bar, they were sweating from being on the dance floor. I would recommend The Dance Machine to any bride that wants an awesome DJ to work with and a party that will last all night! My guests still tell me how fun our reception was and I owe a huge part of it to Larry!

I have been working with Larry for the past eight years, hiring him each year to be the DJ/emcee for the BEST Robotics competition hosted by NDSU's College of Engineering. Larry is truly top-notch at what he does! We continue to invite him back year after year because he plays great music and keeps our crowd excited and engaged. His skill set makes him far more valuable than just a DJ, which is why we use him as an event emcee as well. He is a pleasure to work with...very personable, attentive, knowledgeable and reliable. On top of that, his fun personality and laid-back nature make him very enjoyable and easy to work with. I have been to several dances by Larry OBrien (5 friends weddings plus my own, Streets Alive, and the Fargo Marathon music) and they are by far the best dances Ive ever been to. The whole time the dance floor is full of people having a good time. He reads the crowd easily and always plays just the right song at the right time. So often Ive been to a dance and the DJ is obnoxious and takes the spotlight off the bride and groom or the event, this will not happen with The Dance Machine. The rates are very competitive. Larry OBrien was always quick to return my calls, followed through on specific song requests, and was punctual. He is very professional and will make your event memorable. I highly recommend Larry OBrien with The Dance Machine!

The Dance Machine is a fabulous value for any get together one may be planning. The majority of the time, it's weddings, but it can be hired for any occasion. The cost of The Dance Machine is very competitive and should definitely be considered for your next event.

We charge $900 for a 4-hour dance. Additional hours are $225 each. Dinner music is $75 per hour.

We like to set up a face-to-face meeting to discuss what you want for your event. We'll discuss music, requests, setup time, and answer any questions you have.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've owned and operated the Dance Machine since 1990. I was a radio DJ in Fargo-Moorhead for 25 years, and I have owned Hotvoiceover.com since 2004. I am the voice of Menard's, Madden NFL (EA Sports), the NFL network and dozens more high-profile accounts.
