Introduction: My name is Leland Whitehurst and I have been practicing Massage Therapy for over thirty eight years and getting ready to start the 7th year of my professional practice. I am a Licensed Massage Therapist, Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Body Work, skilled and competent in over 18 modalities/types of massage. In March 2011 I opened my Professional Massage Therapy Practice, Sunset Pier Clinical & Therapeutic Massage. At Sunset Pier Clinical & Therapeutic Massage, my healthcare philosophy is a clinical and therapeutic application utilizing diverse modalities and bodywork techniques of massage to enable health, wholeness and wellness of one’s spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. My goal as a healthcare practitioner is a holistic approach to complementary and alternative medicine, desiring to not only help with the aches, pains, and ailments, but also the wholeness and wellness of the whole person. Each massage session is tailored to each individual client’s needs with a high-end clinical and/or therapeutic massage within a professional, discerning and caring environment. I will utilize the client’s feedback received before, during and after previous, current and future sessions, to assure the client’s comfort and satisfaction. I am very passionate about the benefits and practical applications of massage and the well being of the physical, mental and spiritual health of every individual. Ever since I was four years old, I have been abundantly aware of the impact that a kind, soothing, and caring touch can have on others. So for over thirty eight years of my life I have been actively involved in massage therapy. I have been told by many throughout my years of massaging family and friends that I had missed my calling in life. So at thirty four I returned to college and received my A. A. S. Massage Therapy Degree. It has been my honor and privilege to give help, aid, care and relief to the aches, pains, and ailments of my clients.
