Laura was so great to work with and did such an awesome job of connecting with our kids. We love the shots of our newborn!

About this pro

I love my work to be in the moment, relaxed and real. I don't mind if your little ones can't sit still for a nice portrait. I want to see their personality, their play, the smiles that come out only for you. I won't be upset if your bridal party doesn't line up perfectly. I want to see each of you laugh, interact, and cherish that special day. It's why I thrive on documentary, lifestyle photography in my sessions. I want the real, the giggles, sometimes the tears, and often the messy. Honestly, you probably do too. These are the moments you want to remember, the moments that portray who your littles really were as little, the moments that capture the intimacy of your wedding day, the moments that make your heart swell for years to come. Yes, we can absolutely try for that perfect family portrait, or perfect wedding party pose, but if it doesn't happen, your little family, your wedding was perfect, anyway. My favorite thing about being a photographer, the thing that got me started in the first place is when someone looks at an image I created and feels something - joy, empathy, pause, excitement - even if tears are involved, I love it. It means I've done my job well, and captured something that is important to them, something emotionally tangible.

    Q & A

    • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Getting to know my clients is important to me, so I'll ask you to answer a few questions for me, in order for me to get a better idea of who you are, what gets you moving, and how I can best serve you.
    • Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I recently completed an in-home, newborn session where the parents were just themselves. They didn't hustle to clean the home, or worry about their new child fussing in pictures, but just let their daily life unfold before the camera. As a result, their pictures are some of the most authentic I've produced. The actual session lasted somewhere between 2-3 hours, while images were edited, prepared and returned within 4-6 weeks (This time frame is normal for all sessions, excluding weddings, as culling, editing and perfecting images takes a substantial amount of time, and I want to ensure I am providing the best product possible).
    • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Let the artist create their masterpiece. :) You are coming to me for my expertise, so please allow our creativity to flow freely. Hire someone you trust. I absolutely want and value your input, so I know what you expect, what direction you're looking to go, and I am so encouraged when my clients do trust me to do what I do best.
