Contacted KLS to come install a dimmer adapter and program a remote for our bedroom fan. Tech came out and installed it. After he left, I discovered that the remote he programmed controlled not only the master bedrooms fan and light, but my sons room as well. The technician improperly installed the remote. I called KLS to have them come correct their mistake, and after the issue was corrected...the technician told me his boss(the owner) was to charge me an extra $35. I find this to be ridiculous. I should not have to pay more money when the technician improperly installed the remote in the first place.Stay away from this electrician! A complaint with the BBB has been filed.
KLS Electric, LLC's reply
The customer didn't tell us that he had just installed another remote in the fan next to the room. The dip switches were the same so the remote did controll both the fans. The customer didn't call but emailed a day later. We went out as soon as we could to change the dip switch and that fixed the issue. After we determined that was the issue we did tell the customer it would be $35 just to cover the cost of my employee and the gas cost to go out and fix it. He asked about the charge we told that what we did was right, how would we know about the other fan with a remote to it . The customer did get angry and did not pay for the work and instead of calling me Kyle Stover to talk about the issue he just went to the internet and wrote the review above and did call the BBB and filled a claim. I never charged him for the extra amount if would of called he would know this. I guess one guy out of 1200 people that I've done work for over the 4 years and this is my first bad review what can you do.

Kyle arrived on time and was an absolute professional. He completed the requested work so efficiently that we found another project for him immediately, which he also completed in short order. Kyle does excellent work in such a cost-effective way that he'll be on our speed dial for any future home improvement projects. Thanks Kyle!

My building manager reports that Kyle was professional and did a nice job installing 5 fans and switches in our showroom. We would definitely consult him for future electrical work.

Kyle was very concerned that everything worked well. There was an issue and he came out within 30 minutes of my call and took care of the issue in a very short time. He also followed up afterwards to make sure the work was performed to my satisfaction. I am planning on using him again for another location.

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

No, every project is different and we want to give everyone a fair price so a flat rate will not work in our trade.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

We have worked with all types of customers in the Omaha area. 1. Landlords 2. Home owners 3. City departments 4. Big general contractors 5. Business owners. 6. Many other types as well

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

The cheapest price dose not always mean the right choice. I our trade the cheapest price usually means they didn't bid it right or your not getting what you want.
