I called around to several moving companies to move my baby grand and I was surprised how few movers actually had the equipment. I had a great experience with Murphy Moving. I needed a cabinet moved from one room to another; however, the move involved stairs and I could not do it myself, and I have no one around who could help me. Murphy Moving was the only company who responded to my Thumbtack request. The owner contacted me immediately and the move was complete a day later. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?All household goods movers in the State of Nebraska are REQUIRED to follow Local Household Goods Tariff #22 for all residential moves in or around the Greater Omaha area after having been granted legal authority and proper licensure by the Nebraska Public Service Commission. ALL properly licensed and fully insured movers after having been granted authority, MUST start their billable rate from when the crew and vehicle/truck leave their "terminal area" until its' return. Charges are accrued in 15 minute increments after the initial 1 or 2 hour minimum individual company requirement is met, resulting in a final overall bill after the estimated return time is factored in.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?We are happy to send e-mails in response to any inquiries, we will send our rates, but we prefer to talk with you over the phone to give accurate estimates. By calling, in response, you can get a feel for our knowledge and customer service. By taking a moment to speak with us, we can discuss topics at length and even give you some advice, time-saving tips, or relieve some stress you a may have about your upcoming move.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?If experience counts, we all have Doctorates'. There are very few situations that we haven't seen on a move. We have been on moves countless times to finish moves that other companies wouldn't. We have even been hired by other companies to move specialty pieces they couldn't. If our guys can't get the item where you desire nobody can.
