About this pro

How does your business stand out?

I won't waste time blowing my own horn because I teach piano and singing! (Joke)

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

The fun of watching people smile and love the music! I like working with a gorgeous Knabe piano that has a warm tone and is second only to a concert grand. I like the creativity with which I have to make my students whole and well rounded musicians, noteworthy musicians. I love that I am open to all people, races, creeds.

I received voice training at Noteworthy Music Studio and my experience was positive and it helped me increase my confidence in singing in front of people as well as my singing ability. The atmosphere was relaxed and caring so I was not uncomfortable, even though it was my first experience in vocal training.

Thanks Carla! Your voice was vital in the choir at our Christmas concert.

Julie is amazing! She is so knowledgeable and kind, but my favorite thing about her teaching style is her emphasis on enjoying the journey and not getting tense about learning piano! It should be fun! I am sure she is awesome with everyone, but I can for sure say that if you are an adult who has never played an instrument before, she is the person to take lessons from! A little bit more about her is she teaches in her home which a nice house in the Gold Coast neighborhood near Joslyn Castle. She has both an acoustic piano and a keyboard depending on which you would rather use. She really is a lovely person with whom I have great conversations. She also makes me feel like I am an absolutely amazing piano player all the time. I really come out of her lessons with a new drive to keep improving!

I have been taking piano lessons from Julie Guile (Noteworthy Music) for about two years now. I love her teaching style; she covers a more broad perspective of music besides just reading notes on a page. Our lessons are truly an artistic experience which have challenged me to learn genre' that I have never tried before. We also cover a balanced amount of both theory and application. Julie schedules recitals and field trips each quarter. We played Christmas Carols at Regency Mall in December; traveled to South Dakota to tour the National Music Museum in the Spring; and perform recitals in her home, where we get the chance to meet fellow students and their families. I also want to mention that during the first month of lessons, I performed in downtown Omaha for the general public during a "music around town initiative" - Various pianos were placed around the city for all to enjoy. Julie has amazing credentials. The fees are reasonable. Her grand piano is a joy to play. She's truly the best teacher in Omaha.

Inspiration from two music teacher Aunts who also played and sang, a great grandfather who was a symphony conductor/prolific composer, a great Uncle who composed and sang, a great Aunt who played viola in the symphony, a grandmother with a rich, contralto voice, a brother who learned to play piano 6 years ahead of me and continued to rock as a singer/pianist, and 4 other siblings with their own musical tastes who enjoy singing and appreciating music. I married into a musical family where my mother-in-law And sister-in-law played duets and where my husband's sister was a popular composer. My husband loves musicals and continues to support high school and college productions!!! Oh yes! Most importantly, my mother had the most beautiful voice i ever heard spoken, played piano and organ as well and served as President of the Omaha Symphony Guild Board along with my Godmother.
