FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $15 for 30 minute weekly lessons, $22.50 for 45 minutes and $30 for an hour. I'm currently running a special that new students can get 8 lessons for $100, including all materials. I do travel to my students, and my travel fee is $0.50/minute round trip. If students are available on the same route as other students, the travel fee can often be shared among several families.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We'll start with a free get-to-know-you lesson, where we'll assess where you are at with the instrument, discuss what goals you have and set up a curriculum and practice plan that is personalized to you. You'll get to experience my teaching style and I'll start getting to know what learning methods work best for you.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been teaching for 13 years, and it is my passion! I started private lessons when I was 6 years old and I have loved playing and performing music all my life. I am a great teacher for anyone who is beginner or intermediate who wants to play piano or violin as a hobby for personal enjoyment. If becoming an advanced musician is your goal, I'm happy to get you started and introduce you to more advanced teachers when you're ready!
