FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Home Inspection pricing is based on square footage of finished space and the age of the structure. Homes older than 80 years take a bit longer to inspect so there is a $50 additional charge.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically explain the inspection agreement that is also available on my web site and ask if there are any concerns that they may have from their earlier visits to the home. I also ask about their ability to fix things or if they will have contractors or friends doing any repairs identified. I adjust my explanations based on the client's experience and get into more details as needed. Once the inspection is completed and answers to questions are provided, I spend about 2-3 hours creating the final report that is e-mailed to the client on the same day. If there are any further questions, I am more than happy to answer them on the phone or via e-mails.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a mechanical engineering background but I have been involved with building homes and additions for several years. I also grew up helping my dad maintain over 20 apartments in old buildings so I have seen a few things in my time. I am a graduate of Inspector Training Associates and attend more than 20 hours of practical training courses each year.
