FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
You will need fewer hours with me (spend less) than with other tutors who walk through all different questions/problems "on the clock." My students do practice sections for homework and we only rework the ones they had trouble with together. You pay by the lesson and are never under any obligation to continue. If your quoted rate is higher than my base rate of $110/hr, I will reduce your hourly rate by 10% after the 1st 4 90-minute lessons. Non-emergency cancellations made within 24-hrs will be charged a 50% cancellation fee. No shows (having been sent an appt confirmation) will be charged 100%.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I am happy to answer any questions in a free 20-minute consultation (about ACT/SAT test prep) to help you decide if you want to work with me.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an MBA from a top business school (Wharton). This was followed by a 20-year career that included several years of work in each of the following disciplines: communications, accounting, marketing, planning & investments. In every role, at least part of my responsibility was to "teach" both external customers & internal peers and subordinates about my company, product line or position, as well as to manage numerous project teams. Volunteering in the classroom when I stepped back from full-time work for a few years, solidified both my strengths and skills in teaching writing/reading and mathematical disciplines.
