FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I earned my BA in journalism-photojournalism from the University of Minnesota and my MFA in film from New York University-Tisch School. I'm always attending day workshops for Adobe Photoshop which is what I use for retouching and is a fantastic/multilayered program that's always being upgraded. I use Adobe Creative Cloud, where I have access to such creative and organizing programs and social connections to keep up on new techniques/aesthetics etc.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I took a portrait of my friend in 7th grade...she had these huge almond eyes and I used a zoom lens and was full frame with her face and I just felt I captured a moment of her that seemed to transform this young teen into something a bit iconic. And the experience in the darkroom and then support from my teacher and an art show ribbon sealed it. I had found something that I was good at and that felt great. I always felt so fortunate to know at a young age what I love to do and just have kept stubbornly at it through my education for it and all my work experience.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
But I've done so many types of photography that I feel very comfortable with many different types of photo assignments.
