FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
For design services, I charge $90/hour. Typically, design proposals for residential projects range from $900 - $3,600 depending on project details. For installation I will provide a detailed proposal listing line items for materials and labor so that the client understand the various budget details. If contracted to manage a large project with several contractors, we will invoice based on a percentage of the total project cost. This allows transparency for all.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will meet at the client's home or place of business to discuss their goals for the project. We will do an initial on site walk through of the property where we can discuss design options, access issues, schedule and preliminary budget goals. Once we agree to work together, I will forward them a design proposal detailing the project parameters.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Both my wife and I have design degrees from college. I completed my BS in Industrial Design from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston. A few years later I attended the Landscape Institute at Harvard University Radcliffe Studies where I studied landscape design, site engineering, plant identification, landscape design history, etc. I attend industry trade shows and connect with various industry professionals to learn the latest technology and processes for landscape construction and landscape lighting technology. I currently use CAD as a baseline for all dimensioned drawings to ensure that elevations and areas are accurate for construction drawings and budgeting.
