Let me start by saying that I wish I could give Wayne 10 stars, but since I only have the option of 5, that will have to do. Our house is over 100 years old and we are preparing to paint the exterior again. Needless to say, we had quite a "honey do" list of odd repairs that needed attention. Clapboards that were broken or rotting, the railings on the front porch were falling apart, back stairs pulling away from the house, decorative trim that was rotting, brick foundation in need of repointing, new exhaust vents, and finally new doors. Wayne responded to my initial request in record time and stopped by later that day to give me an estimate. Of all the contractors interviewed, he was the only one that completely outlined the work needed with a full materials list and cost breakdown. Others were quite vague and wanted to repair or replace more than was necessary, turning the job into something larger than it really was. That is why I decided to hire Wayne, his straightforward honesty and winning personality sealed the deal. Wayne and his crew started the job immediately and completed it in good time. They cleaned up the yard after and disposed of all the waste materials as well. Earlier I mentioned the decorative trim, he had this ingenious product that was able to halt the rot and preserve as much of the original wood as possible because there would be no way to replicate the trim without spending a ton. This technique was also used on my kitchen bay window, which ended up saving me a fair amount of money in that area. Wayne also went out of his way to find a great deal for my porch door, I described what I wanted and he took care of the rest. Wayne also offered to come back and replace any clapboard that was questionable once the painter gets started. The other area where he excelled was the masonry. I actually contemplated doing the job myself, I'm so happy that I came to my senses and left that up to Wayne. He truly went above and beyond expectations. The brick foundation including the cement pad really needed help. Wayne fixed the grout as well as re-cemented the gap between the foundation and the pad, now when it rains really hard or when snow melts, the basement won't flood. Wayne had really good instincts and advice about tackling the different elements of our project. He approached the job as if he was the homeowner with a budget wanting to spend money wisely. I'm telling you, I can't say enough good things about Wayne and his crew at L & K Construction. I will definitely be using them again in the future.
We are a 72 unit residential condo complex and had 5 trash dumpsters that were sitting in different locations around the complex sitting on crushed stone and surrounded by 6' stockade fence. We wanted to clean up the area so we contracted Kearley Masonry to pour concrete pads to place the dumpsters on. Stephen Kearley came in removed and disposed of the old fencing that enclosed the dumpsters, excavated, made the forms 10'x10', poured 5" of concrete over crushed stone with wire mesh cleaned the area and bridged the space between the existing driveways to the pad with cold patch to avoid a tripping hazard. I would highly recommend Kearley Masonry and use them again should there be a need for concrete or a mason on the property.
This contractor was very thorough and knowledgeable, and kept me informed throughout the project. My foundation is now sealed, and my basement is free of leaks! I would hire Sam again if I have another project.
Paschal was very quick to respond to my inquiry. He stopped by the next day to take a look at my foundation project. He followed up by recommending a block instead of poured foundation. This saved me some money. He hasn't started yet, but I feel confident in choosing him.
We contacted Sean for what we thought would be an easy/quick fix on replacing some old brick front porch steps. Once he began working on removing them, it was clear that the steps had not been constructed well originally (no concrete/block foundation, but just gravel and dirt under the porch landing). Sean gave us options, and we decided to go with a combination of granite and brick. Sean created a beautiful pattern that's reminiscent of Frank Lloyd Wright, and now I think our front porch landing is the favorite part of our house. Beautiful work, and excellent communication (weather didn't cooperate so well!), and the result? Stunning. We'd definitely contact him in the future.
Great job at a great price. I love the retaining wall and concrete walk Fernando and the team at Disere construction did at my home. I needed a retaining wall to keep water from running into my driveway, even in the dead of winter they came out and built more than just a functioning wall, they created art! We couldn't be happier!
We hired Ray to renovate our unfinished basement into two bedrooms. We chose Ray because he offered to get us some needed ceiling height (of which other contractors wouldn’t even offer). Ray is meticulous in his approach to doing things right: From digging down our basement floor to get the height we wanted, to applying extra hydraulic cement and coats of foundation sealer to ensure our basement won’t leak, to leveling our staircase so we don’t feel like we’re falling when coming down the stairs. The renovation posed a lot of challenges which included budget/materials, broken dumpsters, and a deadline of finishing in time for a new baby. We made it through and are grateful. Our 2 daughters LOVE their new rooms and we couldn't be happier!
Gil repaired some concrete steps, walkway, and retainer wall. He was prompt in his correspondence and meticulous in his work. We'll certainly consider him for further projects.
I hired G&B for a concrete slab project in my old garage. I received quotes from multiple contractors, but went with Bruno (company owner) because he not only had a very reasonable quote but also seemed very knowledgeable in the subject matter. Bruno's guys worked diligently to complete the project and took the time to clean up after themselves at the end of each day. I would highly recommend Bruno and his team for this type of work.
Gary did significant masonry to my brick front steps and it looks like he did a great job. He removed and replaced cracked bricks and stone, raised up the landing so that the problem will be less likely to reoccur, and sealed off the area that was letting water in. When we first touched base he said it would be about five weeks before he could get to the job and his estimated timeline was exactly on point. He even offered to put up new pillars on my front steps that I had purchased at no additional charge, which was not something we had discussed, but it made sense to do it at the time since he had to remove the old ones anyhow to do the work. Bottom line: I would recommend him to anyone in need of solid masonry work.
Kieron came to my home and understood what I wanted done with little conversation. His crew left the work site clean and pass able each night. The finish project came out to my expectations. He even fit my project in during the height of the season. I would recomend him for any concrete project you have. Larry M.
Concrete Repair Specialists was my third quote for an interior French drain installation in a house I just bought - by far the best price. No pressure in making the decision - no "specials" if I committed right away (both other high pressure quotes were given by salesmen). I liked the personal busy model - James gave me a quote, explained the project well and did the work himself exactly as promised. A very messy job was cleaned up like it never happened and any investment into finishing my basement is now protected. A couple of months later I needed foundation work on a vacation home that I was selling and James came through again. The before and after pictures are amazing and the new owners have piece of mind that the work was done correctly. They had another quote that was similar in price, but James had the knowledge of why their work plan was not the best option. The horizontal cracks were jeopardizing the integrity of the home - pins were placed alongside two walls and many significant cracks were all filled. The final coating made it look brand new. I recommend CRS to anyone who tells me they need foundation work done.
My experience with Troy was great, but my fault, I needed a mason, Troy is Cement only.
