Introduction: Complete musical instruction is offered in piano (all levels), music theory and composition and organ instruction for those with previous piano experience.
I have experience with every age group and serve as an encourager, designing individual programs for each student. There is absolutely no standard course other than the use of well-established learning methods where necessary. I meet the students wherever they are in the learning process, including those who are previously self-taught.

Michael Joseph has been my sons piano teacher for nearly two years. He is patient and kind and has a great sense of humor. He allows for my son to develop at his own pace and encourages his creativity while, at the same time, making sure he learns the theory and techniques behind the music. Michael is also the choir director at church for both of my sons. He recognizes the different gifts that each child has and encourages them to use them to their fullest. He is truly a gifted teacher and mentor. He understands that each child is different and is flexible is dealing with the unique talents that each child possesses. He is a fantastic teacher and we will be with him for many years. I highly recommend him as an instructor.

Michael Joseph was a piano instructor at my university. I took lessons with him because he was recommended by one of my friends. In two semesters, I went from barely knowing where keys were, to playing one of my favorite songs. Prof. Joseph helped me be more patient with myself, and tackled those areas I needed to improve. He is very passionate about what he does, and very knowledgeable as well. I highly recommend Michael as an instructor.

I was a piano student of Michael Joseph for a few years at college. I had taken lessons for many years prior, however in the few years I had taken lessons with Michael, I learned more than I ever had before. He is an excellent patient music instructor who is extremely knowledgeable and devoted to music, and it showed in every lesson. He loves what he does. I have become a better piano player because of Michael Joseph.

I hired Michael because I needed flexibility in scheduling and someone who was willing to work with a complete music amateur. He was very responsive and accommodated my schedule and it has worked out great. I receive helpful lessons and reasonable homework to help me improve.
