I've been out of school for a couple years and needed to prepare again to take GMAT. Couldn't be happier when I found Arbor Tutors. Superb support with excellent tutors. I can't recommend them enough!
Sasha is great, she's patient and very knowledgable about physics. She explains complex ideas in a language that I can understand. I look forward to more lessons with her!
Anna is a valuable yoga instructor. Thank you Anna for wonderful private yoga lessons it is always exiting for me and makes me peaceful and much happier too. Thank you again .(-:
One of the best tutors my daughter ever had. She struggled with the sat for a year until we found him. He made lessons around her needs and that helped her do well. She was able to get into the college she wanted.
My 4-year-old daughter has been taking piano lessons with Dillon for several months. He is devoted to making sure that my daughter is engaged in her lessons and learns both technique and theory. Even before working with us, Dillon recommended the right type of keyboard and piano workbook to purchase. He is very patient and dedicates a great amount of effort to instructing our daughter (and two of her 4-year-old friends). He is firm and keeps her focused (but not too firm that he intimidates her). Finally this week, my daughter went to her room and practiced by herself and is now able to play "Old MacDonald". Yay for Dillon!
Lenore is very experienced and excellent at discerning your child’s needs and tailoring the lessons accordingly. She is very patient and thorough and provides a positive learning environment.
Robert teaches Italian lessons. I am a terrible student frequently confusing my High School French with what Robert patiently teaches me. He is good humored, well prepared and pushes me along just enough. I am never frustrated but always encouraged. Robert always is smiling and I never feel silly with my pronunciation. Robert really is a great teacher. I wish I had met him years ago before my first trip to Italy. I look forward to my lessons all week. Bravo Robert!!!!
I have been taking Spanish lessons from Roberto Talavera for one year. I never had much formal Spanish instruction, so was looking for classes to help me learn grammar and improve my conversational skills. It has been highly motivating to have one on one lessons with Roberto. He is professional, patient, and is able to tailor the lessons to my level of knowledge. He supplements the lessons with homework that incorporates a variety of styles, including novels, music, and video interviews. In the past year since I have been taking lessons with Roberto, my confidence in Spanish has improved and I am able to communicate more effectively with clients at work. I highly recommend Roberto Talavera.
He was my SAT English teacher at A+ Academy. He gave a lot of advices for the test and was always prepared for the lessons. After each new lesson, he would always review the lessons before at the beginning of class. Because of this, I was able to memorize all the necessary grammar rules to help me do better on the verbal section. Overall, he was a great tutor.
My son is in 10th grade and a bright boy. However, with the ACT tests coming up we wanted him to reach his full potential. By using the Chelsea International test prep tutoring service, my son has excelled so much. He is now prepped to go to Stanford, and this is after only doing 6 short weeks of tutoring with Dr. Michelle. Her patience, understanding and encouragement, has driven my son to reach the greatest heights. He scored 35/36. I am so impressed and so thankful for the professional service of Chelsea International Schooling at Home.
Justin was an extremely helpful SAT tutor. He took into account the concerns I had in specific areas of the SAT and designed the lessons so I could improve not just in those sections, but also in the test as a whole. I was able to make the most of each session, and Justin answered all of my questions along the way. He made himself accessible throughout the week to answer messages and emails and I could not be more appreciative of him taking the time to do so. The tips and tricks I learned from him significantly boosted my confidence heading into the test day, and I was very pleased with my results.
Kate is an excellent writer. I am so happy I worked with her. She helped me with statement of purpose essay for graduate school. She is good with grammar, punctuation and style. I would work with her again.
Robert is an excellent tutor. I hired him for the SAT and it was a wonderful experience. Robert's visual learning style helped me as a visual artist. Through his drawings and other visual representations, I was able to understand tricky math and conceptual literature questions that confounded me before. Our meetings were both formal and informal. I felt like I really got to know Robert and established a comfortable relationship with him while maintaining the teacher/student dynamic. This was very helpful to me, because I generally feel more inclined to learn when I do not feel like my relationship with my teacher/mentor/etc is one sided.
I like my ESL lessons with Marion. She taught me not only the language but also the American culture, which I'm very interested in. Besides that, she is such a nice person that talking with her is always enjoyable.
I highly recommend Stuart as a tutor. What a pleasure it was to watch him in action as he so enthusiasticxally and effectively tutored my daughter in high school calculus! Stuart is selfless with his time and energy ... and brings an incredible work ethic to every exchange. He is a natural teacher; grounded in a strong base of knowledge in mathematics, Stuart connects with students in a meaningful manner, motivating them to excel. My daughter said it best: "Stuart is the best math coach I've ever had ... he's even better than my teacher". Dick Tantillo Vice President, Communications and Development Hamilton College
Daniel's tutoring experience and knowledge of the material was key to our daughters acceptance to Bergen County Technical HS. Daniel always arrived on time for each lesson and always came prepared. We were also happy that he gave homework assignments to work on for the next lesson. Our overall experience was great. We will definitely contact Daniel again.
At the turn of the millennium, I was a junior at Murrow h.s. attempting to pull an Intel Science Talent Search paper together along with about 20 other ambitious 17-year olds. The Intel kids had two terrific mentors - one more focused on guiding us through the absurdly complex development and submission process, the other a terrific writing coach helping to ensure that our work was as crisp, concise and articulate as possible to the judges - one Marisa Schwartz. Like many of the other kids, I formed a strong bond with both teachers, and when it came time to write my college entrance essay for the Ivy League to which I'd decided to apply early, I turned to Marisa. It was difficult, because my essay was about the emotional turmoil of having come out a month or so earlier for the first time, to my 16-year old girlfriend, and Marisa was the first adult with whom I'd shared my secret. When I got my essay back, it was riddled with red ink and, after the general comments, a postscript that read, "Thank you for sharing this with me." I think Marisa helped me edit and revise that essay about 5 times, and by the end it was truly a great piece of writing. As for the school - I got in!
Ridhi has given three Algebra lessons to my ninth grader so far. From my observation, Ridhi has the knowledge and the right skills in this area. I am waiting for the school test scores to see the actual results.
Thomas Meli has been tutoring my son for the SAT for months, both on line and in person. He keeps my son engaged and wanting to do better. Tom is patient, easy going and yet very positive and motivating all at the same time. My son continues to enjoy the whole experience. Tom’s approach is based on comprehension and he teaches his students study techniques they can apply for the SAT and beyond. He has helped my son bring his SAT grade up by 160 points and he is currently working at doing even better!
Best thing for my child. The lessons were fun and engaging. Highly recommend.
Rachel has been tutoring my two sons for the last school year. She has been instrumental in keeping both of my sons engaged in math. They have been successful with Rachel's tutelage in keeping A's and B's in their advanced classes. Moreover, Rachel has helped tremendously helpful in their other classes. She is the best!!
