I love the personality of the instructor, Mr. Darrell Payne. I love his approach to teaching and Coaching. He is not like those who will just train you randomly. He helps you realize what you already have (Your musical abilities) and then he helps you develop them and teaches you how and when to effectively use them. In my over three years of learning from him, I realized that he finds joy in teaching. He is passionate about helping musically inclined people improve, and he is also equally, if not more, passionate about helping people who do not think of themselves as musicians discover their abilities. Mr.Darrell Payne is the best music teacher I have ever had. He pays attention to detail and knows how to teach everyone at all levels. He is very kind and hardworking. You will not be disappointed!!!! I never knew anything about music and In the time that I have been taught by Mr.Payne , I have grown so much and my knowledge in the area of music! I’ve been working with Mr. Darrell on voice training for a little over a year. When I began I could barely sing above a whisper and, although I loved to sing in private, had zero knowledge/ confidence when it came to sing publicly. Mr. Darrell was extremely patient, professional, and intentional during our lessons. There was never any judgement or pressure when I struggled to sing the right note or understand a certain concept. He was always encouraging and persistent (sometimes to my chagrin). Because of these invaluable lessons with Darrell, today I am on my church’s choir confidently singing back up, and working hard towards singing lead. I look forward to more lessons and growth! If you’re thinking about working with Mr. Darrell, DO IT! The only thing you’ll regret is not having started sooner!
