We needed a Life Coach to help motivate a group of 60 individuals in the insurance business. We didn't know where to look and interviewed many candidates in person & WoW; Mr. Stone came in. He had a confidence, fearlessness and inner strength that was second to none. Here was a Life Coach who just knew what to say and when to say it -- and how loud to say it! He analyzed the room very quickly and knew what was necessary to get these teams up on their toes. I must say some of his ways are a bit unconventional but it just worked. As said in his profile, "it is not the odds that kill us but the spirit that dies if one is not able to fight those odds". He installed that spirit in everyone in the room including upper management and the executives. Once in a while you meet someone who is a little different yet relates to those who are listening and understands what they need to hear to embrace the next challenge and better themselves. As he said, there is a formula that he learned as an executive through the years through trial and error that just works. His stories alone had the group mesmerized and his intensity was formidable. If you can get him to handle your meetings/conventions; grab him as he is well worth it. We couldn't haven't been happier as he even stayed a bit longer to answer individual questions from the audience on stage and alone.
I was concerned that hiring a life coach would be too costly to help me past anything beyond the earliest stages of my project. But Judy’s coaching services are structured in such a way that I I can engage her not just for helping me with short term goals, but for helping me achieve long term goals as well. That knowledge, paired with Judy’s skilled and insightful guidance, has allowed me to finally trade the paralyzing sense of being overwhelmed with the clarity of having concrete, achievable goals. Judy’s particular intelligence makes her an invaluable coach for anyone who is undertaking a sprawling, intellectually intimidating, creative endeavor.
Tom has shown that he genuinely cares about how, when, and if I progress. He is invested in whether I actually achieve breakthroughs toward my personal success. Considering that my goals are so immense: to metamorphosize an ashamed, unhappy, ineffective, & lonely guy, with limited professional influence, into a proud, happy, effective, socially fulfilled, & profoundly influential version of myself, it would have been easy for him to give up on me. Even though I'm confident many life coaches in his position would have terminated our relationship months ago, dealing with such a high-maintenance client as myself - expressing to him hundreds of suggestions / criticisms / requests, expecting a personalized experience that caters to my individual needs, and offering frequent pessimism or guarded skepticism at best - he has been patient, flexible, & determined to support my progress. It has been several months since Tom started coaching me, and I have consciously delayed writing a review until I might have a sense not just that he cares and won't give up (after all, that's part of the job description), but that he will actually help me transform myself, in ways that countless others haven't. I have worked with therapist after therapist for years & years, undergone treatment with psychiatrists, hired dozens of countless project collaborators and personal assistants, and tried more times than I can remember to count on the support of family and friends in order to help me make the steady progress needed to break out of a deep debilitating personal rut that has lasted for decades. All of the above have been unsuccessful. I naturally wasn't expecting Tom to be any different. But I gave him a shot, deciding that I deserved a chance for renewed hope. I almost gave up on him and on myself, but he didn't give up on either. And finally, after months of 'blood, sweat, and tears,' I have come to believe there is hope at the end of the tunnel. I'm beginning to make steady transformative progress, and I'm looking forward to the journey that lies ahead. Prerequisites for success: I have to be patient, make a few reasonable leaps of faith, and make an investment in my future, emotionally and financially. I also have to be an active participant and be willing to gradually take the reins myself. I finally have to accept his limitations, while recognizing and counting on his strengths. His limitations: Tom is not a miracle worker, and in comparison to others I've worked with, he's not the most charismatic, inspiring, eloquent, forward, original, perceptive, intellectual, tech-savvy, exciting, or assertive. But his STRENGTHS far outweigh these limitations: He is persistent in his efforts. He is determined to be an ally on the road to victory, offering extra support when needed, never conceding defeat. He is compassionate, showing empathy for my experiences & struggles, frustrations and pain, & and my initial often-pessimistic attitude. He is patient, and will put in the time to understand, listen, and reevaluate / regroup when necessary. He is humble and modest, not expecting recognition, praise, notoriety, credit, or gratitude for going above and beyond. He is affordable, & ends up charging far less money than he could for his time, and far less than any of the other life coaches I considered, let alone being a mere fraction of the cost of a therapist or psychiatrist! He is respectful, as a friend would be, but sensitive & honors any boundaries I set. He never speaks down to me. He is honest, and when requested, very candid about what he thinks needs improvement, more, focus, or a shift in perception. He doesnt rub me the wrong way as a salesman might, as though Im a source of income, but always treats me like a person who deserves to achieve his dreams. He is passionate about helping people. He works very hard, often going above and beyond what others would do, putting his clients ahead of his personal life. He is fair, respects agreements, honors his word, readily forgives, and shows lenience. He is creative, willing to try to approach problems from new perspectives and angles. He is open-minded, willing to work with approaches and systems hes unfamiliar with that I know are likely to be effective. He is trusting, and gives me the benefit of the doubt, while also helping me to become more accountable. He is reliable, and I have been able to count on him in ways I couldnt count on therapists, employees, mentors, friends, & family. His system of "open access" helps me throughout the week, and this unique system of coaching has been the key to my success, helping me beat procrastination and not lose sight of my goals. He is flexible, & accommodates limitations, changes, and conflicts with my schedule, deficiencies in my attitude, and treats my perceived failures like learning opportunities to take a new, more promising approach. He is resilient, and puts up with much more than necessary for someone in his position, and never complained once to me about it. Finally, he is kind, complimentary, and friendly. He's like that 'conscience on your shoulder.' I would recommend him to anyone who is considering hiring a life coach, or to anyone who has unfulfilled dreams they know they deserve to and could achieve, but haven't. Thank you, Tom, for your efforts, and quality work :)
She is a very good therapist. She always responded promptly to phone calls/text messages and was very flexible with appointment times and dates. She was also available to do sessions over Skype. All this was very useful in my care as I was a busy attorney dealing with serious mental health issues. Her rates became too high for me as I had to stop working but before that she did try to work with me and offer a reduced fee. Overall, great experience and I would recommend her to others.
Tom is very knowledgeable in fitness & nutrition. I am very happy to have found Tom on Thumbtack.I have lost 20 lbs. since I started working with Tom. The exercise program he has designed for me truly targets my trouble areas.
Jerry was a fantastic coach! She supported me in so many ways through a big life shift at 50. Her coaching helped me really think about what I wanted and how to get there. I could not have done it without her.
Nick made each lesson engaging and fun. I found myself looking forward to the next lesson. He is extremely knowledgeable and always found a way to make the lesson relatable. He provided me with many useful test taking tips and tricks. As a result of Nick's coaching, I experienced a significant increase in my test scores.
Thomas offers a unique and phenomenal approach to PERSONAL training!! He brought the best out in me as a former athlete by helping me regain confidence while pushing my limits through a diverse range of workouts. Every session with him was challenging yet extremely enjoyable! He has exceeded every expectation I had for a personal trainer and would highly recommend him to anyone looking to get on a forever health and fitness journey. Stephanie
Justin is a true pro. Very valuable coaching in preparation for a business presentation I was giving. He asked good questions to understand the context of the situation and tailored his coaching to that specific opportunity. Great insights on the importance of the physical/mental connection needed to help make a successful speech. Always on time. I highly recommend Justin to any interested in improving their public speaking skills.
I've been having weekly phone sessions with Gabriella for the last six weeks and they have been amazing! I cannot say enough about what a great coach she is. She's dedicated, focused and totally your cheerleader. At the end of each of my sessions, which end with a hypnosis session, I feel capable of actually achieving all of my set intentions. There are not enough words to describe how much this experience has helped me. I had wanted to speak to a life coach for a long time and I decided to go the phone route as I thought it would make it easier to ease into the process. Gabriella has been able to help me focus on what my true goals are and to find ways to "attack" them without feeling overwhelmed. She's helped me clear the fog in my head and finally listen to me. The process is not always easy as it requires you to really be honest with yourself and also be accountable but even during the times when I fell short of my desired goals, I was okay knowing that I was on the right path. There was never any judgment from Gabriella, just encouragement. I highly recommend her!
Life throws curve balls. That's how life is. We've been lucky enough to have Tina Kahn as our insightful and empathetic coach and therapist to help guide us through the 'curviest pitches.' She's a great listener, and offers truly helpful and practical advice. Could we muddle through without her? Maybe... but why should we settle for muddling, when we can be guided toward more productive and satisfying relationships? That's what Tina Kahn has done for us and we will always be grateful to her.
Shawn coaches my comedy improv team. He is brilliantly smart, thoughtful and intuitive. He reads our team and creates improv exercises that stretch us in ways we benefit from. He solves our problems as a team and helps us to be better. Very capable person. Comedically he has a unique ability to link the banal, the common, and the typical to the bizarre, the uncommon and the atypical in a surprisingly understated way. He's really funny, considerate and generous.
I completely, wholeheartedly recommend Jeanine. It was my first time working with a coach and, of the 15 or so coaches that I did intro calls with, I connected right off the bat with Jeanine's warmth, intuition and understanding. She's changed my life. In our time together, I grew more than I could've imagined in just a few months. I relearned how to connect with my intuition and to act on it. I nurtured a profound, deeper trust in myself and the universe. I reopened myself to the world to be the giver that I am at my core. And I found the courage to speak my truth and step into my full bigness and wholeness of being. Her use of guided visualization is so powerful and has opened up worlds and tools that I will use for the rest of my life. Most importantly, I feel that Jeanine approaches her clients as more than just clients but as humans that she deeply cares about and roots for. I feel unconditionally supported and cherished by her. Jeanine is incredible and I can't recommend her enough!
Brent is a good communicator and has always been very professional in his demeanor, he is always on time and easy to schedule appointments with. I was a little nervous when I went to my first appointment, but have gotten much more comfortable over time. Brent is very present in the room, he gives me a lot of eye-contact, and shows genuine compassion. While it can sometimes be difficult, the work that I do with Brent has allowed me to get to know myself better, and has significantly improved the relationships I value most in my life. His office, while very simple and unadorned, has a warm atmosphere, and is very conveniently located. I have found my work with Brent to be very valuable, and highly recommend him as a coach.
I had the extreme pleasure of working with Gillian at Shiftability Coaching. This was my first experience with any type of coaching. As a parent, I was completely distraught over a decision to have my young children enroll in public school in the suburbs or stay in the city and keep them in private school. Gillian's thought provoking questions and exercises allowed me to differentiate between my feelings of fear and instinct. Within 4 sessions I was able to make a decision with joy and confidence! Gillian is very kind, friendly and easy to talk to. I felt her guidance came from a place of genuine and authentic interest in my journey. I honestly cannot say enough about my experience. Thank you Gillian. I felt as though I was talking to a dear friend!
I met Robert McLean at a previous job that we worked at during college. Right off the bat, I knew that this guy was someone who could potentially change my life, even before he was officially in the business of lifestyle coaching. Robert is a mastermind at what he does. As Robert began to learn more about my life, habits and general situation, he suggested small changes that he believed would benefit me. I was not in good shape. I did not know the first thing about style. My dating life was a mess, as I constantly lowered myself and settled for people that embarrass me to think about. Looking back now, I was pretty miserable. As his first client, I gave him total control and put my trust into him fully, which was a bit scary initially, but I felt I had nothing to lose and everything to gain. At the end of the day, he definitely delivered and I immediately saw results. His in depth knowledge and life experience helped to guide me through the process of Fitness, Image, and Dating. Throughout the process, he began to give me new hope for my future. His bubbly personality made this six month journey fun for me, but he also challenged me in ways that I did not expect. He is very reliable, trustworthy, and uses methods that will leave you with a new-found confidence. My life has changed drastically, as I now have a consistent gym routine, an excellent diet, as well as a stylish wardrobe that fits my personality and emphasizes my attributes. Because of this, my dating life has been superb, as I have met and dated a number of beautiful women and no longer have to lower my standards to find a date. If you are unhappy with your body, style, or dating life, I guarantee that you can turn things around. If I was able to, then I believe that anyone can with that extra push and extra motivation. I highly recommend Robert and his service. I know that he will build on his already great ideas and continue to change people's lives.
My experience with Patricia involved personal life coaching sessions on a professional development level over a two year period. Patricia' mentoring helped me to significantly achieve professional and personal growth through her knowledge and expertise. Her one-on-one coaching provided strategies for me to implement to reach my goals professionally. Her trust and insight was invaluable to me to achieve a positive work-life balance and a job satisfaction!
Vonne was responsive and professional. We were able to have an initial conversation and I was comfortable from the start. She is knowledgeable and easy to talk to. I would recommend giving her a try for any of your coaching needs.
excellent experience very intelligent and professional looking forward to more work with slyder coaching
I found Evan’s coaching service to be helpful in my job search. In my situation, I felt completely stuck. Evan helped get me "un-stuck" by asking all the right questions allowing me to come to the conclusion on my own time and in my own way. He watched me go through all the iterations of, "do I want this?" "is this right for me?" "whose interest am I serving here?" until I was finally able to conclude it was time to move on. When it came time to apply, I got excellent coaching on my resume and cover letter as well as my approach to the search. I even felt confident enough to cold-call some employers and eventually took a job with one of those who wasn't advertising an open position but just happened to be looking. Evan has an easy personal communication style. After the initial awkwardness that comes with bearing your fears to someone you barely know, he quickly became a trusted adviser. I have ADHD, and need structure and deadlines to keep me accountable. Sometimes, I bristle at this structure and deadlines and push back. But Evan never let me forget that I am ultimately holding myself accountable to myself. Setting deadlines and creating structure just became a part of our regular discussions. That was immensely helpful! Most importantly, Evan was able to meet me where I am mentally and emotionally until we could walk together toward my goals. You can probably tell that I'm a fan. I would recommend him to friends and colleagues especially those looking to make a change and want to put their best foot forward, be it personal or professionally.
Victoria, is quite a talent! My wife and I met with her for about 45 minutes and she presented me with a handout script for me to read out loud and then critique me over and over again until I improved somewhat, as it’s still a work in progress but I think she’s well worth the money.
