Introduction: We pride ourselves on excellant customer service. We keep our client informed of the progress being made every step of the way. Our clients can reach us whenever they have questions or comments concerning their job. Daily inspections of the job are made and if anything needs addressing, it is done on the spot. The job site is kept clean and the neighbors are not inconvenienced. I enjoy personal contact with customers. I like to develop a relationship with my customers that will allow them to feel comfortable not only with me, but my crews as well. Solving people's problems and servicing their needs are my top priorties. In addition to having a Home Improvement Contractor license, I also have a NJ New Home Builders License, #52073. This allows me to do new home construction as well as modular home construction. We can build a new home on the customer's lot or we can assist them in finding a suitable building lot. In this very difficult time, we are well aware that your health and ours should be a primary concern. We follow CDC guidelines by wearing masks, social distancing, and conducting phone conferences as needed. By doing this, we hope to service you safely and still make your ideas come to life.

Victor was very responsive and direct and he came to my house to give me an estimate. It was 400 percent higher than other estimates I received from other contractors. I told him that. Before leaving, he asked to put a lockbox on my front door that day for me to put a spare key into for his subcontractors to use, even though he was not yet hired for the job. That was an unusual request that no other contractor had made. On the day he was supposed to return to take more measurements, he texted me that he did not want to do the job anymore. Perhaps he realized he could not take advantage of me with pricing and that I would ask questions, as one should if they are spending $200,000 as he estimated. I do not know the quality of his work so I cannot comment on that, but that was my experience.

Completely satisfied with the final results of our new front porch. Ark Construction finished the job ahead of schedule! They were hands on from the quote, to the materials used, to the installation. Would recommend them to any one who is looking for home improvements.

Victor came out to do an estimate after several text messages. Thing we’re looking good! He mentioned he needed 7-10 days to price the job which I felt was acceptable. Then he sends me text he would have quote over weekend and never received quote. I am not sure how people can stay in business with such poor customer service. Don’t waste my time texting, calling, coming out to see the site if you are going to take the time to bid the job. Have enough decency to say we are going to pass or this job is out of our scope of what we do as a contractor. I took the time to offer you an opportunity to do work on my home. The least you could do is communicate if you were not interested.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My system is not complicated - labor costs, material cost, and management cost. One thing to remember is that every job is unique and must be priced accordingly. Even a simple roof is different from the neighbor because of material selection and style. While the pricing system is the same, the job is not.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First of all is the general phone contact to introduce myself and obtain an idea of the scope of the job. Secondly, we set an appointment to see the job site and meet face to face. The first meeting is very important to set a working relationship with the customer. Once the customer is comfortable, I begin taking measurments to start to develop a quote. A rough draft is generally emailed to the customer for approval. Once approved, a contract is drawn, signed and work is started.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I attend workshops and seminars introducing new products and techniques. In this field, education never stops because the industry never stops introducing new materials and techniques which I can share with my customers.
