Introduction: I am deeply invested in and committed to supporting the unique academic and emotional journeys of each student. I am truly at my best when helping others and have been fascinated by human relationships and interpersonal communication from a young age. As a licensed K12 school counselor, I have dedicated the past 17 years to working with students both at the higher ed and secondary level including college counseling and advising, career development, individual and small group counseling, peer conflict and mediation as well as expressive arts therapy. Through my work in schools, I have seen first-hand the transformative nature of establishing positive relationships with youth. I deliver a deft blend of counseling and advocacy skills which have proven successful in helping others navigate the many social and emotional challenges of middle school, high school and beyond. My focus is helping students and their families explore, develop – and ultimately achieve – their personal goals. Frankly, applying to college is much more than checklists, essay writing, and mastering deadlines. I understand the relational nuances and big picture impact that the college process has on students and their families. I can provide more than solely admissions experience when helping with the college process. One-on-one coaching allows me to employ both my admission and counseling skills to empower and advise students on their journey to post secondary life. I hold a BA in Psychology from Muhlenberg College, an MEd in Higher Ed. Administration from Northeastern University and a MA in Counseling from Montclair State University. MY PROCESS: Your path to college doesn’t have to paralyze you. I help to empower students to recognize their unique qualities, celebrate their authentic self and place emphasis on FIT over FORCE. Let me help by focusing on your strengths, passions and mapping your application journey in a straightforward, organized and realistic way. My process begins with individual care and attention to what makes you, YOU. TOGETHER we develop a personalized plan to meet your needs. Stephanie has been brilliant, she started working with my son Wills just over eight weeks ago and immediately started understanding where he could improve on his vocabulary and grammar. Going through various applications Stephanie also assisted with how to answer and understand questions but at the same time setting assignments for my son to self complete. Stephanie is easy to work with and always follows up after each session.

Details: Writing essays • Completing applications • High school Sophomore • Once a week • Remotely (phone or internet)

I have recently worked with Stephanie during my college application process and she was such a great help to me. She worked with me on my applications and college research and was extremely helpful to me in identifying the college that was my best fit. I would encourage anybody who is applying to college to meet with her because she will help make this process less stressful and a whole lot more enjoyable!

I would not have survived the college process without Stephanie! She was so knowledgeable, sweet and helpful along every step of the way. She went above and beyond and I couldn't have been happier with her services.

The services provided by Stephanie Cappadona are invalueable to the parent, but more importantly to the student embarking on the college process. Stephane was instrumental in focusing my highschool senior and providing guideance with regard to the essay process.
