Known as the Midlife and Menopause Coach, I help approximately 40 to 65 year old women manage, navigate and overcome significant challenges, transitions and crises in their personal and business lives. I work with women in midlife to transition healthfully and happily through menopause by teaching them about the importance of nutrition, physical activity and exercise, meditation and mindset. Additionally, I help them navigate through difficult life passages like divorce, death of a loved one, empty nest, elder care, rightsizing and what I like to call the midlife "blues and blahs." I know that a woman's midlife years also frequently bring career changes either by choice or from corporate downsizing, mergers or acquisitions. Today, there are many women re-entering the job market after years of being home raising their families as well as women who choose to fulfill a longtime dream of starting their own business. Having been the owner of a successful, full-service, pre-press graphic arts company with 30+ employees that provided design, photography and film preparation services to corporate accounts for over 20 years, I intimately understand the stresses of juggling family and career. I also know what it's like to "wear all the hats" at work including administrative, sales, human resources, marketing and facilities management. Widowed at the age of 43, I managed all the roles on the home-front within my family including nurturer, disciplinarian, nurse, motivator, maintenance and repair, finances and budgeting, planning and recreation just to name a few. I've acquired in-depth knowledge and extensive hands-on experience relating to a wide range of business concerns such as planning and formation, legal, accounting and insurance, employee management, equipment and facility lease negotiation, customer acquisition and retention and vendor relations. In addition, I've studied online marketing and social media extensively and am very committed to helping midlife women utilize these powerful tools in building and expanding their businesses. In addition to my graphic arts company, I owned and operated a custom invitation, stationery and gift retail store, which was located in a 10,000 square foot commercial property that I bought and redeveloped from single-use to multi-use. Through that complicated process, I learned much about the ins-and-outs of commercial property redevelopment, and ultimately became a commercial landlord to restaurant and retail tenants. My diverse business experience has provided me with a unique, knowledgeable and very personal perspective in being able to relate to the challenges faced by women business owners in today's fast-paced world. My strong commitment and desire is to assist women in launching their own businesses, expanding ones they already own, and advising them on integrating and utilizing online technology and social media to capture market share within their target market. After my husband's unexpected death in 1999, I raised our two children on my own. My daughters are now 21 and 23 years old. My stepson Bredon, who was 17 years old at the time of his father's death, struggled for many years with drugs and alcohol addiction. Sadly, in 2007, despite my ongoing emotional and financial support through several rehabilitation attempts, he died from a heroin overdose at the age of 26 years old. If anyone understands the challenges presented by life's sometimes heartbreaking experiences, I do. Because of the obstacles I've faced in my own life, I am absolutely committed to getting and giving the most from and to life. Known for my high energy and direct, but extremely compassionate nature, I coach my clients via one-on-one phone sessions, in group teleseminars and webinars and during specially designed workshops and retreats. In addition to coaching services, I offer speaking topics, blog articles and programs on a variety of subjects relevant to midlife women.
