I've been learning from Dom for a bit shy of two months now and have been loving every minute of it. While I'm a neophyte on guitar, my mother is a music teacher (guitar/piano/voice) and I grew up with vocal coaching at various levels, so I have experience with a variety of music training. I found Dom to be incredibly responsive; as other reviewers have touched on, he starts from the very beginning with vital information that I merely glossed over when self-teaching other instruments, but he will quickly amp up the pace of your lessons to your speed of learning. At this point, I leave each lesson feeling challenged, but I come into the next week with enough understanding to grow and meet the next batch. I'm also taking bass lessons with him once a month, and the sessions dovetail nicely into each other. He has a wealth of music history and experience at his disposal and you would do well to take advantage of that. Also, he has two of the sweetest cats I've come across in a while, so there's that.

Phenomenal musician, great teacher, cool cat - I rate David First INFINITY STARS. I've studied music here and there, but it wasn't until I started taking bass lessons with David a few years ago that it all came together for me. He explains music theory in a way I can understand and translate to actual practice that is not a chore, it is fun and addictive! Besides developing technical skill, Dave also helped me grow as a musician by getting over feeling awkward jamming with other people. I eventually felt comfortable enough to audition for bands and ended up in a fun one, playing out in the city even! David was there for my first gig, too. My husband was so impressed with my progress, he started guitar lessons last year and has come so far, it is amazing. We feel like Grasshoppers to David's Master Po. He is the best, ok I'll stop now, you get it.

I took piano lessons as a teenager about 60 years ago. Over the years, my keyboard abilities have diminished significantly. Gary came up with a plan that will change my playing style and enable me to enjoy playing again. Gary is very easy to work with. The first lesson energized me and I look forward to working with Gary.

Michelle is great with kids. Our 7-year old daughter loves her piano lessons and always looks forward to them. More important, we can hear that she is really learning and making great progress. Two of her school friends have started lessons with Michelle after we recommended her.

I'm a long time student of Chris's and have taken guitar lessons with him both in person at Express Music and then continuing on with Skype lessons once he moved out of Florida. I was also involved in several Rock Band programs which Chris created, he was the instructor and our band's drummer. He is really good at this stuff. Chris's guitar skills and level of music theory knowledge are top notch, I have never been able to stump him with any songs or questions I’ve brought in. He is comfortable teaching all styles of guitar and its various techniques. Chris is also very patient and easy to get along with, a very cool guy. Highly recommended!

Chris has recently started giving guitar lessons to my 14 year old son who really loves classic rock. Chris immediately started out with songs that my son chose which has been a great approach. My son is really loving playing so far and I look forward to him continuing to work with Chris. Chris is also friendly, responsive and very professional.

I have been taking electric bass lessons with Wayne for a couple of months. In that time I have seen a significant improvement in my technique and most importantly, sound. Wayne assessed my playing, asked me about my goals, and developed a learning plan that is customized for me. He provides useful exercises and detailed feedback. He is helping me build a solid foundation and even sends me notes summarizing what we covered. He is also extremely encouraging.

Josh is quick to respond and easy to schedule lessons with. His lessons themselves are super efficient and he truly takes his students' goals into account to help design practice sessions for them that will get them playing quickly and well. He's knowledgeable and knows how to infuse some basic music theory into his teaching.

Michael is a terrific teacher! He is everything a student of music could ask for in an instructor. I am a busy professional who decided randomly to start learning bass guitar and Michael has been a blast to learn from. First, he is very professional: he is punctual, responsive and very flexible when accommodating my very busy work schedule. He takes the lessons seriously: while we have a lot of fun, he is focused on making sure I am getting as much as I can out of each lesson. No time is wasted. Second, Michael has a great teaching method: we learn while having fun. I know so many other students of music who dread meeting with their teachers (they want to learn but hate the process). Michael makes the sometimes challenging process of learning a new instrument actually enjoyable. This may seem obvious to some but it's worth repeating: if you enjoy something, you'll want to do it more and get better at it. Michael brings that kind of energy to our lessons. Finally, Michael's rates are very reasonable especially considering how much I learn during each lesson. Anyone interested in learning an instrument should absolutely consider learning from Michael Karsh. You will not be disappointed.

I have been taking Piano lessons with Robert for the past month and a half. I started as a complete beginner and I've really enjoyed my lessons. Robert is an excellent teacher who provides a structured method to learning while also keeping you motivated throughout. I'm already able to play a few songs and I'm looking forward to getting better!

WHAT A TERRIFIC TEACHER. Sometimes, educators who have been teaching for a while forget what it's like to be the "learner" and can in turn be condescending, impatient, and unwilling to simplify difficult concepts for their students. JOE, on the other hand, was PROFESSIONAL, PATIENT, and PLEASANT. When explaining certain musical concepts to me, he explained it in my language. He encouraged me to ask as many questions as i could come up with; no question was off limits. He tailored the music lesson to my skill set, and even provided study material for me to work with in between our one-on-one lessons. I am excited again about playing piano and learning how to read music!!!!

Lou is an incredibly accomplished guitarist who studied with, among others, Eddie Simon (Paul Simon's brother). I needed some structured guitar lessons that would allow me to understand chord structure better. Lou took me through understanding and practicing simple scales through more advanced chords. He always came prepared with charts and tablature for me to keep and his fee was incredibly reasonable. Plus he's really funny. :-)

Charles, the teacher, strikes just the right balance between teaching me things every guitar player should know and letting me decide what to learn. Since I started taking lessons as a beginner one year ago, I've improved, learning finger-picking technique, soloing, new chords, and much more. Charles is extremely motivating, we study together the songs and adapt it with respect to my skills and also to be more personal. He is very professional, responsiveness and dedicated to his students. He is a great teacher, fluent in many styles, has a thorough knowledge of music theory, and keeps classes fun and very interesting. If you're looking for a warm, friendly and professional class to learn to play the guitar, this is where you want to go.
