Introduction: Let's face it: the college admissions process is stressful enough, but the SAT doesn't have to be. How to reduce the stress? Know what to expect and feel confident that you are ready for whatever could come your way. My philosophy as a tutor is to give students the tools and guidance they need to get their best possible scores. I do this by focusing not only on test strategies, but also on the content of the exam. I work closely with students and parents to develop a study plan that meets the student's needs and talents. There is no one-size-fits-all here. Over the past eight years, I have tutored over one thousand students on all sections of the SAT. My students are from all walks of life and academic backgrounds, from inner city public schools to the most elite private school. I am successful as a tutor, because I believe that every student can learn to master the exam. As part of my philosophy of approaching every student as an individual, I have developed an expertise in working with students with learning differences. Over the past few years, I have had the opportunity to tutor many students who received accommodations on the exam due to ADHD, Asperger's, dyslexia, and other diagnoses. I work closely with these students and their parents to develop an approach to the exam that compliments their learning styles and makes the best use of their specific accommodation.
