Introduction: The easiest way to learn more is to head to my site! There’s informational videos for each of my services and complementary yoga practices for you to feel my authenticity and commitment to both my offerings and you. If you’d prefer just to read, here’s a bit more about me: Enamored by all traditions from the Vedic period (1500-500B.C.) and born/raised in a blue collar family in New Jersey, practices with me mix the potency of the ancient practice with the raw realism of our modern times. It's my passion to work with you from where you're at to guide you in a steady fashion to where you want to be, no matter where either of those points are and no matter what service you're interested in. Whether you're physically, emotionally, mentally or spiritually-focused on transforming your life to add more productive ease, calm and stress relief into it, we work together to achieve your intentions with the help of ancient and time-tested practices with proven results. All of my services have informational videos on the website to both demystify the offering and better explain the proven benefits. Master trained in hatha, kundalini and Ayurvedic yoga and teaching adults and children alike for almost a decade, my pictures come from yoga because that's what I'm best known for in the public eye (thus pictured doing). My other services do tend to be more personal, so I keep them as such. I do have certifications in everything offered (plus some), that are available on the site as well. In terms of Alternative Healing and Coaching, I offer Ayurvedic lifestyle and nutrition consulting, Reiki, Sound Healing, Personalized Aromatherapy and Vedic astrology birth chart readings. My website is uncommonsensetherapy.com, where you can informational videos and practice deep breathing, alignment and meditation with me complementary if you need that to be more confident in your purchase. All services are available at one of my two studios on a rural lot in Hillsborough, New Jersey. Most offerings are also available at a location of your choosing, though additional travel costs apply ($25). I also believe in my trainings and the potency of everything I offer so whole-heartedly that if you're not fulfilled by your service I'm happy to give you your money back, which has honestly never happened despite being very open and willing. If you want to test it and see if you will be my exception, you'll notice I change this right away! Truth is necessary for healing.

I've had multiple one on one yoga sessions with Brittany, and I must say, she is excellent. She is extremely knowledgeable, and tailored our sessions to meet my specific goals and needs. As an athlete, I've seen a notable improvement in my performance since adding yoga into my training. Brittany does a great job at converging both the physical and spiritual worlds for me!

I've been taking yoga with Brittany for a couple of months now. I was nervous at first because I had never done yoga before, and wasn't sure I would like it...Brittany made me feel so comfortable and we really clicked. The changes I have noticed in the short amount of time that I've been working with her are just incredible. I'm less stressed, my flexibility is much better and whenever I have any issues, she changes the session around to address them. I cannot say enough about her. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to practice yoga. You won't be disappointed!!

I can't say enough about how wonderful practicing yoga with Brittany is! It only took one amazing yoga session with Brittany to light the fire and bring me back to my yoga practice I had gotten away from. I came to our sessions with stress and anxiety, and left each one feeling rejuvenated. Brittany makes each practice fun and enjoyable while really delving into poses that help alleviate the underlying problems. If distance wasn't a factor, I would do yoga every day with this beautiful, wonderful, insightful, knowledgeable, caring, and talented instructor - my dear girl, Brittany! She comes up with a unique/varied sessions based on your specific needs. If you are looking for a great yoga experience, look no further than with Brittany Lewis!

Brittany is passionate about teaching yoga and the benefits it can offer in the gym and in everyday life. She brings an open mind and positive energy into every session and is willing to learn more herself as an instructor. She has taken the time to get to know me and understand my weaknesses so we can make improvements. She shares her personal yoga experiences, which is helpful to be able to relate when struggling in a certain area. Excellent experience!!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

Most of my prices are pretty competitive to the market. I do charge more if I have to travel to a client than if a client comes to me or books on Zoom. Some of my services are more expensive than the market rate because of the time/effort/extras I put into the session versus my competitors. If you're curious why, ask! Maybe the benefits are worth the cost to you, maybe not. As a mindfulness practitioner, my heart's in all my decisions so it's easy and natural for me to have a conscious dialogue with you about it.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Depends on the job! Everything can be booked through my website, which has my schedule tethered into it so there's no double-bookings. All clients start with either a phone call or text exchange, depending on the client's preferences, where we talk about everything I need to get ready for our consultation. For yoga clients, I need to know what kind of yoga you're interested in, what your body's been through and what we're working with in order to design a session I know my client is happy with. For yoga-fusion or exercise clients, I we talk about short-term and long-term goals so I can make sure to deliver expectations or send a client somewhere else if I don't feel like I am able to deliver the practicum the client needs. For Ayurvedic (nutrition / health & wellness) clients, the process is a bit more thorough. The client needs to go through an assessment to teach me about his or her unique body as well as what struggles it's facing from an eastern medicine prospective. This allows me to get ready for the consultation in a way that truly delivers results to each client's unique body. Of course, whether the client is nutrition or health & wellness-oriented determines the way the consultation is delivered, so we go over all goals as well. I don't charge if a client isn't happy with our session, so this is where I make sure I'm going to get to keep my money!

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

So much! I went to the U.S. Air Force Academy straight out of high school, so I have truly been in fitness my whole life. My holistic journey started in 2012 and below you'll find a list of all of the training's I've jumped into over the past (almost) decade... Certification and training wise, I received my hatha yoga beginner's certification (RYT-200) here in the U.S. through the American Yoga Academy, my intermediate & master's certification in India through Aarsha Yoga Vidya Peetham (RYT-300), and my kundalini levels I & II certification (RYT-200) in India through Sri Yoga Ashram. I received speciality certifications in restorative yoga, power yoga, aerial yoga, yoga barre, and yoga HIIT through Honor Yoga in the U.S. My kids' yoga certification through DIG Yoga in the U.S. I received my pilates & barre certifications through Kristin Leung Wellness in the U.S. My Ayurvedic Lifestyle Coach certification through Medicina Ayurveda in Argentina and am currently amidst Dr. David Frawley's 300-hour training. My Level's I, II & Master's Reiki certifications through the Director of the International Reiki Organization, Lisa Powers. My aromatherapy certification through Mark Perren-Jones, international best-selling aromatherapy author and teacher. My Vedic astrology certification is through Sri Yoga Ashram's psychologist and guru in Rishikesh, India. Intuitive reading I learned through Hay House's online program.
