Introduction: In our lessons, I like to focus on what drummers need to be an effective member of a band. I learn what a student’s goals are and find a personalized way to help guide them through their own musical journey. I have a degree in jazz performance on the drumset from New Jersey City University where I studied with the great jazz drummer, Tim Horner, as well as a multitude of other great faculty and mentors. Now I regularly perform with professional bands in different musical styles around the tri-state area and teach drums to students of all ages.

I have taken lessons with Ramsey since 2015. He is an extremely talented drummer who is also a fantastic teacher. By the time I started taking lessons with Ramsey I already had played for 20+ years. Ramsey taught me technique and open my drumming horizons teaching me many different styles of music, many that I never thought about learning. The result is that I can play now many different different things that growing up I thought were impossible to play. After seven years I not only consider Ramsey a drum teacher and mentor, but also a good friend. I highly recommend him.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My prices are set at a price for individual lessons. I offer discounts for packages of 3 or more lessons per month.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will take sometime to get to know the student and gather understanding about what they like and what their goals are. From there I am able to better shape their lessons.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a bachelors degree in jazz drums and have been teaching drum lessons for almost 20 years. I also have extensive experience playing in different kinds of bands.
