My daughter and I met Evis once thus far. Evis' client is my 14 yr old daughter. He appears to have quite a bit of experience. We like his martial arts back ground. The first work out was challenging for my daughter who has not worked out for 1 yr (she earned her junior black belt in Karate about a year ago)but she got through it. Evis had a calm way of of knowing how much more she could do when she did not know it herself. He has a clam way of encouraging. A big plus for my daughter or any beginner. Looking forward to more work out sessions.

As a student of over 21 years, I have gained fitness and the ability to defend myself, but the East Morris Karate Academy goes beyond kicks and punches. One will develop confidence, integrity, self-discipline, attitude. There is a real camaraderie—a true sense of family. Mr. Musco and the instructors take a personal interest in the well-being of their students, and share their great wisdom. Best of all, the training is tremendous fun!

NOTHING beats the experience you'll have at Shunato Karate. As a kickboxing student, Sensei Kato has not only taught me the essentials of self defense, but in the process has also taught me confidence, determination, focus, patience, and the importance of a happy workout. I've dropped 6 pant sizes just having fun! Shunato isn't just a dojo, it's a family. You're not going to find anything else like it, so stop looking. Come join us!

I had taken up this art at the age of 18 years old to assist me in my job performance while under pressure/ stress. Additionally, it became more and more easier as I trained for 30 minutes each day. I was given many hours of advance specializes training from Keith Sammy, Instructor. Lion Style is an art which gives an individual the abuility to defend themselves from any angle with you legs( since you have longer reach and more power with a kick), then your hands. This is a science built art and utilizes kenitics with psychology to strike an opponent without being strike, lead an opponent into an action that allow you to strike, and confuse the opponent. To this end, Lion Style Karate gave me a life long lesson, which was transferable to my dad to day life. Jon Sumesar-Rai MIFire.E, MPS.

I trained pretty seriously when I was younger, so I already knew what I wanted in a dojo when my daughter became old enough to start. Of course I wanted a dojo with an excellent safety record; of course I wanted skilled martial artists who were also experienced teachers; of course I wanted a traditional place, with high etiquette and behavioral standards; of course I wanted successful competitors who weren't obsessed with competition. I found all that at "the Legend", but I also found something I didn't know to look for: a community. Hanshi Scarda (the lead instructor) knows everyone who comes in: all the students and all their parents, and all of the students know most of the students. Everyone is working together to get better, and having fun doing it. My daughter is completely comfortable and at home in the dojo, and has been enjoying karate for more than two years. Me too.

The 8 year old who is bullied at school was very happy with his private lesson. He's already feeling more confident and has learned some self defense moves that are appropriate for his age, height, strength level, etc. John will be doing bi-weekly one on one self defense lessons for the next few weeks and then some. As a grandma, I'm very happy my grandon is learning how to protect himself, confidence, how to get out of bully situations, etc.

The karate style known as Goju Ryu was founded and developed by Chojun Miyagi (1888 - 1953). Meaning hard/soft, Goju is a self-defense system that focuses on close range fighting with efficiency of movement and also building confidence through personal development. Kyudokan means, "The school that is searching for the way". We strive to share the true history of Goju Ryu Karate for all generations.
