I'm here to help! :)
I'm a certified secondary English teacher with 15 years of experience teaching grades 9-12 in high achieving high schools in New Jersey. In terms of qualifications, I have a BA in English, an MA in Media Studies, and more than 10 years of experience teaching AP Language and Composition and AP Literature and Composition. Throughout my career, I have taught workshops dedicated to SAT prep and writing a memorable, distinctive college application essay. Aside from teaching, I have also helped people with resumes as they transitioned into careers in nursing, teaching, marketing, office management, and other professions.
If you are in need of tutoring in general English composition, college application essay writing, AP or SAT prep, or help with writing, editing, and/or proofreading, I'm available for 60 or 90 minute sessions. For our health and safety during this time, tutoring sessions will be conducted via Zoom. I look forward to helping you find your voice and recognize your potential!

Jenn was amazing to work with. Incredibly inspiring daily and the kind of teacher that really makes you think critically and expands your mind with every lesson. Her dedication to students is unwavering and she's definitely been 1 of THE most critical teachers in my life that has both changed and inspired me unfailingly with each lesson and conversation. She always goes the extra mile with her curiosity, diligence, care, and passion for learning, teaching, and hard work. Jennifer helped me with my writing when I was a freshman in college. I had always been an A student in high school but once I got to college I realized I needed to enhance my writing skills. Jennifer was great! She was incredibly thorough and professional. She helped make my writing more sophisticated and thought provoking. I was extremely fortunate to have had Jennifer Dwyer as a writing instructor for three years (Grades 10-12). She pushed me to not only master foundational writing skills but taught me how to craft my words with intent, character and grace. Ms. Dwyer teaches not just the standard material but also critical thinking skills that have been helpful in my college application process and my college experience as an English major at Princeton University. Her classes were formative for me in learning how to think outside the box, analyze different media, and overall enjoy literature in a novel way. She's a really amazing teacher/tutor!
