Introduction: I am eclectic yet structured, adaptable and spontaneous yet grounded in the foundations of yoga. This approach allows me to connect with many different types of students, meet their needs, and open their minds and bodies to the wonder that is yoga. I am friendly, patient, and pride myself on delivering quality yoga education. Being able to guide people to feel better, release stress, get stronger, and develop a deeper relationship with themselves—mind, body and spirit—is one of the most exhilarating aspects of this work.

If you seek a yoga teacher who can properly teach you the asanas with gentleness, attention to detail, patience and constant encouragement, then you will love Lola Rephann. As for me, I didn't know what an asana was when I ventured into the world of yoga. My first attempt at a local yoga studio was a bit of a disaster. I was the only guy in the class. I didn't know you were supposed to wear "yoga pants." So there I was earnestly flopping around in my khakis during the 75-minute class. I felt awkward and kind of stupid, to say the least. No one in the class nor the teacher came up to me afterwards even though I was OBVIOUSLY new. I felt as if they all hoped I would never come back. It reminded me of my first attempt at ice skating. I stepped onto the ice and immediately sprained my ankle. I never tried ice skating again. This all changed when I met Lola Rephann. Lola is a gifted teacher. She has introduced me to my body in a way I never knew possible. I am overjoyed that I can now do poses that seemed impossible when I began (like shoulder stand) but that is not why I continue my yoga class with Lola. Lola is teaching me to align my physical body with my spiritual reality. She is teaching me that the asanas (postures) are only one of the eight limbs of yoga. I wanted a spiritual teacher who could introduce me to the essence, the fullness, of yoga, not the fancy world that yoga has become in some circles. I found her. It is difficult to put into words how Lola does this. I think it begins with the fact that she gives me her full attention. Before we begin our class we talk about yoga and about what¹s going on in my life, my challenges and joys. She listens to me on multiple levels. And she has an uncanny ability to somehow cater each class to my needs in the moment. I have learned from Lola that yoga is not about forcing yourself to do something you don't want to do. It is not competitive. Like life itself, what¹s right for you is what's right for you, not someone else. In yoga, you discover and explore your limits. You accept your "edge" and work with it. You are not alone in your quest. Again, as in life, you learn that sometimes you need support. I felt excited during my first few yoga classes but I also felt like a fish out of water. But over time I have grown comfortable in my practice. I can even say "my practice" with a straight face. Sometimes, even if I have only 15 minutes available, I can¹t wait to get changed after work and do a few sun salutations (surya namaskar), Yin poses and pranayama (breathing). Lola has helped me to enter the spiritual life through my physical body. This can be a profound experience. There have been moments at the end of my class when I sit with my hands folded at heart center, my head tilted forward, and I am suddenly moved to tears. It is then I realize how far I have come in my yoga practice and how blessed I am to have a teacher like Lola Rephann.

I've taken classes from Lola for years, both her Vinyasa classes, Yin classes and Vinyasa classes that incorporate Forrest Yoga methodologies. No matter the size of the class or the focus her attention to each student, flow of the class and variety of asanas is outstanding. Lola always stays true to the origins of yoga as a whole and reminds her students to detach from their ego, remain observant of what they are feeling and is not afraid to talk about the depth, power and meaning of awareness, spirituality, consciousness or stillness in her classes. Regardless of your "level" of practice I highly recommend Lola's classes!!!!!

Lola's spiritual, traditional approach to teaching yoga has been the most rewarding experience for me and my practice.

Lola is a wonderful teacher and her classes and her support helped me overcome a very painful mobility issue with my spine. Yin yoga saved me and Lola inspired me to keep going. I will always be grateful to her for introducing me to this practice!

My husband is a complete novice and while I have some experience in yoga - I don't know much. Lola not only helped us feel completely comfortable, but made us more excited to practice in the future. She incorporated meditation and visualization and really listened to our needs and desires for the session. I am very much looking forward to hiring Lola again. Wonderful instructor!
