Margaret was so helpful! Prior to our first visit, we had a thorough conversation so we had objective set up ahead of time. She is extremely responsive, and accommodating with scheduling appointments. From the first training day, my dog Penny has made so much progress. It’s like a switch flipped and she’s potty trained, no more accidents. She doesn’t bark when I come in. She doesn’t jump when I come in. We look forward to our next training!Oct 28, 2017Verified
We have an (almost) 2 year old Australian Shephard that needed a lot of work with leash training, commands, and his quick reactions. We started using this company when he was a little over a year and a half and the improvement we see in him now is just amazing. We've learned how to walk him, how to distract him from certain trigger points, (bikes, skateboards, etc.) We have our training sessions once a week and every single week we see improvement and learn something new in our Aussie ! He's a smart dog with a lot of love, but needed the training so we can better enjoy him! HIGHLY recommend this company - we see a world of improvement in our pup!Jul 4, 2017
Margaret helped us with our 17 month old German Shepard, Bane. We wanted to focus on some key behaviors while incorporating general obedience. Over the past 7 weeks, we have experienced a great deal working with Margaret. She provided exceptional training for Bane and us as owners. We were so pleased with the progress we were seeing, we signed on for an additional 6 weeks of training. We will be sad when we no longer need her training. Margaret is incredibly knowledgeable about her dogs' behaviors and breeds and is 100% dedicated to her dogs!Jun 30, 2017
Margaret has helped us train two very stubborn French bulldogs! She has a great manner with dogs and kids alike.Oct 14, 2017
Margaret has been awesome in helping us train our now 6 mos. old Border Collie Bayley! Her knowledge, understanding and care have been great, especially for us being first time dog owners. We will be continuing his training as long as we can! We have progressed from the basics of sit, stay, impulse control and are now looking to the future of fetch, come and frisbee's!Jul 12, 2017
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?Every situation is different. Some training issues are very simple and some can be complex and may require more time and resources. The more information that is provided at the time of the request, the better.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer? The typical first appointment starts with a questionnaire that is sent to the client so that I can get information about them, their dog(s) and detailed information about the training they want. Once I received the form, I formulate a training plan to address the needs of the individual dog. Sometimes this is a single session and sometimes an owner will want to consider a training package of multiple sessions. I offer phone/text support after each session so there is no confusion and clients have the opportunity to ask any questions they may not have asked during the training session.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have been training dogs since childhood but have been training dogs professionally for over 18 years. I have had the honor of working at some of the top dog training centers in northern NJ over the past 2 decades and have worked with and attend workshops and seminars from some of the best and most respected trainers in the country as well as the UK. In 2017, I was hired as an independent contractor for a highly respected pet care company out of Delaware. My formal educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Recreation Administration with a focus on Therapeutic Recreation from Kean University.
