Mark has been providing piano lessons to my son (now 8) for over a year now. Mark is amazing, he is excellent with my son; patient, friendly, but a very strong teacher. We love to hear my son practice at home and are amazed at his advancement, we have recommended Mark to our friends who are very thankful to us and will continue to do so to anyone looking for a friendly, very accommodating, excellent musician to teach their young child the art and love of playing piano!Oct 5, 2015
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?$30/half hour in my home. $40/half hour in your home (Leonia vicinity only). I'm on the music faculty of NYU, but lower my rate considerably for my local students.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I am an active performer which gives my teaching an edge. I stress the basics of rhythm and accuracy, and expect weekly improvements from my students.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I have been playing piano since age 6, and woodwind instruments since middle school. My intense training at the Curtis Institute as a performer led me to a wonderful career as a musician. I find sharing music with students truly joyful. Teaching music is a vocation, a calling, it feels very natural to me.
