Adrienn makes her session to be very easy. Now as a person who has never touched a sewing machine before and never sewn a thing in my life, now I know thanks to Adrienn and it's safe to say I can alter a dress. I thought it was going to be tough but she kept on saying "You can do it" Her favorite example is, " did you ever think that you would learn how to drive? No, but today you have a car and you are not scared of driving right? Same thing as a machine. She is very PUNCTUAL and she takes her classes very seriousl and she is not going to waist your time for sure. She is very strict and she pushes you to be the best and she is very clean. To anybody who wants a good sewing instructor Adrienn Braun is the Best I recommend her!!!
I was looking for someone who could teach both myself and my 10 year old daughter how to use our new sewing machine. Kim was great from the initial email up to our 1st lesson. Kim was patient and understanding in setting up our lesson time, due to some scheduling snags. She was flexible in her schedule, arrived on time, and was a very intuitive teacher. I felt like, she understood what type of learners we were from the beginning, and by the time she left, we felt comfortable in the basics of sewing. Kim has a superior knowledge of sewing, and has experience with all types of machines. She taught us a lot of tips and tricks that will help us remember what we learned. She was pleasant, nice to talk with and ridiculously inexpensive. You cannot beat her price for a private lesson! We already scheduled our second lesson with Kim. I highly recommend her as a teacher.
Denise was very professional and helped get started with my sewing machine. She had helped me pick the machine and when she came over the class, she walked me through the functionality of the basic parts of the machine. She also started me off on my first project. She taught me some basic sewing terminology and guided me through the sewing instruction sheet, helping do the cutting, and sewing. I plan to call her again to do another class.
I've taken several private lessons with Kim. She is definitely the best sewing teacher I've had. Very knowledgeable, relateable, patient, accommodating and encouraging. She has a gift for explaining the necessary concepts and helping you master the skills. For someone who has no natural aptitutude for sewing whatsoever, she is/was a godsend. I'll be delighted to take more lessons from her.

Karla is an exceptional seamstress. She taught me the ins-and-outs of how to make a robe. Her precision and expertise were exactly what I needed and I am grateful that I was able to meet her. We have since kept in contact and I never hesitate to contact her if I have any questions or need additional instruction. Simply wonderful!
Brenda was flexible with my appointment request and was professional, yet friendly. We designed a custom class on hems for me and I really appreciated Brenda's focus on my specific projects. She was able to incorporate my level of experience so I have plans to set up more class time with Brenda.
Excellent work. Very reasonable price. Hard to find, at end of short hall.

With 18 years of experience, we have been teaching New Yorkers to sew longer than any other sewing school in Manhattan. With this experience, we have been able to standardize our classes, and include a book with every Beginner Sewing or Stitch and Bitch University class, so that students are given all the information they will need to sew successfully, even if they miss a class. Our teachers all follow this curriculum to make sewing as easy to learn as possible. We love to see our students walk out of class with fantastic looking projects, but what we love even more is when they come back to us with things they've made on their own. We love to think that we have inspired them to create new things, and that they have found a hobby they love. We get so excited when former students bring us pictures of the bridesmaids dresses they made or the costume they whipped up for baby's first Halloween!
I teach basic sewing skills, understanding patterns, how to make your own pattern, sewing basic clothes, and home accessories.
