FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Consultation fee is $150 for two hours. The interior design consultation is an opportunity to see your home first/ or commercial space hand and start the conceptual process. It’s a time for me to listen to your design dilemmas, learn more about your vision for the space, how it fits in with your lifestyle, etc. This means that we will take a tour of your space together; we will discuss what is working for you in each space and what is not. We will hone in on those problem areas you want to address for the scope of work we will embark upon. Once we have narrowed down the problem areas to address, we then provide our best and grandest ideas. These ideas may include best ways for space layout, the addition of millwork and other architectural elements, furnishings, lighting, art, window coverings, and decor pieces. We may also look at online resources to help you visualize what we have in mind. The next step in the interior design consultation is discussing the budget. . We will do a budget exercise; this includes completing a worksheet to help clients determine a good range to consider. Lastly, the consultation fee is not applied to the design fee or any future project should you decide to hire us. The paid fees for the consultation is strictly for our time to travel to your home and provide you with expertise. This fee is collected ahead of time (prior to the meeting) to ensure that our focus is on the design work we are there for.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Client fills out contact form. Discovery call to discuss project needs. In home consultation is scheduled & paid. Consultation appointment is used to tour the space and determine design challenges and solutions. Design fee proposal is developed (2-3 business days). This proposal outlines the scope of work, our design intent/goals and our design fee to get started. Design fees can vary per room. Once the design fee proposal is approved, a 50% advance on our design fee is required and signals the start of the project. A day is scheduled where I come and take measurements and photos. The next steps are broken down into 2 components. The first is space planning. I design 2 floor plan options (depending on the space) that support your functional needs. These options are presented in the client’s space where we discuss the final layout that will best meet your lifestyle. Next, a furnishings proposal is developed. This will include all renderings, materials, furniture, fabric, and color selections. It will also include a budget breakdown of the furnishings. We will also gather quotes from tradesman who will be hired by the client and managed by the designer. A presentation of this proposal is given in the client's home. This presentation is 1-2 hours; it includes one revision that must be requested at this meeting. After final approval of the presentation, it is required that you sign the furnishing proposal and pay the deposit required to begin the purchasing phase of your project. The remaining balance on the design fee is also required at this time.
