Outstanding trainer. Has a lot of knowledge and experiance in both weightlifting and self defense. Also has a great personality and is dedicated to make his clients both happy and satisfied to the fullest.
Evis is a great trainer with a lot of knowledge about Kickboxing and martial arts in general He is very easygoing and has a laid back personality but don’t let that fool you:) He can really push you to the max As an intermediate level student I found his method to be interesting His aproach is very methodical and challenging which is what I was looking for As far as training intensity he can really get the best out of you with a very calm way I had so much fun on my first day and really enjoyed his teaching
Andre explained some basic Krav Maga techniques and had us pair up to practice these moves. He was punctual, friendly and answered any questions that we had with extreme care and detail. It was an enjoyable experience that left us wanting to practice more. He also shared valuable information on NYC laws regarding self defense that were very good to know.

It all started with 3 words. I was first inspired to visit the East Morris Karate Academy years ago when I came across an old yellow-page ad describing the school that said: Tradition / Society / Profession. This short description was (and still is) unusual in a market that hypes MMA, cage fighting, barb-wire tattoos, kiddie karate and/or womens self defense for weight loss programs. So I was curious could this be the real deal? What I learned rather quickly was 1) That not all karate schools are the same; 2) that the East Morris Karate Academy taught karate in the traditional sense of the word and; 3) that my life was about to change in a myriad of ways for the better. I got stronger, focused, more confident, and began finding successes both in, and out, of the dojo. Now, years later, Ive seen this happen countless times in many of our adult and junior students. This stuff does work! Whether you are an adult looking to study martial arts, or a parent looking for a quality program for your child - you cant go wrong with Mr. Musco & East Morris Karate Academy. They are everything that karate is supposed to be about.
I have been training with Scott for nearly a year now, my goals were to lose weight but mainly tone up, gain muscles and improve my shape. I also wanted to learn boxing and gain more self confidence and energy for my every day life. I especially need somebody who motivates me and I need to see results. Working with Scott I have achieved my goals, I look and feel a lot better and it is so much fun that I don't need any extra motivation to go to training! I was particularly impressed by Scott's enthusiastic personality, people skills and knowledge of his field. I have enjoyed training with Scott and he incorporated boxing into our training in a fun way and exactly at the amount I was looking for. He is very flexible and has adjusted the training to my wishes but he knows what I need and pushes me beyond what I thought I am capable of. I would highly recommend Training with Scott, he is a well experienced, knowledgable, motivated and fun trainer to work with.

NOTHING beats the experience you'll have at Shunato Karate. As a kickboxing student, Sensei Kato has not only taught me the essentials of self defense, but in the process has also taught me confidence, determination, focus, patience, and the importance of a happy workout. I've dropped 6 pant sizes just having fun! Shunato isn't just a dojo, it's a family. You're not going to find anything else like it, so stop looking. Come join us!
For almost 10 years, Ali has been the perfect trainer for my 97-year old dad. With great sensitivity, respect and finesse, he has expertly crafted and customized workout experiences for my dad's specific and changing needs. He has helped my father to maintain his strength, independence and self-confidence by challenging him with various workout methods while always supporting him and encouraging him to stay active and fit both physically and mentally. He is patient, calm and has a great sense of humor, ensuring that their time together is enjoyable from start to finish for dad (even though it can sometimes be a challenge). While recuperating from a fall last year, dad became dangerously weak and had a hard time walking on his own or even getting up from bed or out of a chair. Ali monitored the situation closely and made sure that dad got back to the gym as soon as he was able, gradually and carefully helping him re-build his muscles, stamina and stability until he was again able to walk on his own, move freely, work out and enjoy his life as usual. The end result is that my dad is the strongest and happiest he's been in years. Ali is a treasure... a wise and consummate professional who consistently gets results!
Kris has been training me in boxing technique for a year now and i notice a huge increase in my skill level, endurance, health, and self confidence. Kris is a great mentor, setting the tone for a positive and safe learning environment. He pays attention to form and detail and pushes me hard enough where i remain interested and feel successful.
The owners are supper friendly and treat everyone like family. The self defense instructor is great, and doesn't take himself to seriously. A fantastic class and I look forward to going every week.
Jackie is awesome. She teaches the best techniques and has helped correct my form. She cares about everyone that walks into her gym and into her life. She cares that I get it right instead of just making money. I wish I could train more often with her because I know I would be in excellent condition and a supreme fighter. Or at the very least supreme in self defense if God forbid I should ever need it. When I think of great teachers Jackie is my top 3. Probably #1. I just wish she was closer to my area. Or I closer to hers. If your close to her gym. GO!!! you will fall in love with her spirit and commitment to training. You will will find a new home too. OK I really need to move. I would literally move closer just so I can go train with her on a regular basis. I don't drive so its not easy for me to get to her. But if you can... GO!!!
The 8 year old who is bullied at school was very happy with his private lesson. He's already feeling more confident and has learned some self defense moves that are appropriate for his age, height, strength level, etc. John will be doing bi-weekly one on one self defense lessons for the next few weeks and then some. As a grandma, I'm very happy my grandon is learning how to protect himself, confidence, how to get out of bully situations, etc.
As my kids were entering their later years of grammar school and preparing to enter the middle grade system, I wanted to make sure they were mentally, emotionally and physically prepared for anything and everything that came their way. I wanted to keep them in shape, protect themselves, build confidence and increase their flexibility and so I found it right here in my home town, Sifu Ivan's Ultimate Martial Arts Acadamy. We have been training here for the past 6 months and this is as good as it gets when it comes to mixed martial arts. You will have an amazing time, meet new friends and find new levels of energy. After attending for several months now, I have noticed a huge positive improvement in the areas of confidence, focus, listening, strength, self esteem, endurance and grades. They are so eager to attend that we quickly went from once a week to twice a week. They look forward to learning new skills and mastering them in order to advance to the next level. The academy also reinforces the values of respect, friendship and family. It is an incredible environment to not only learn martial arts but to also have fun in the process. Sifu Ivan is an incredible instructor not only does he teach the skill, but relates it with life experiences and applies it with example. What a phenomenal experience filled with positive energy!
Over 40 years of training Wonderful location Great Teachers
I do not know yet because I can't send any quotes to anyone
I teach classical self defense not modern sports martial arts. This is not a fitness class and it's not Muy Ty or Kung Fu. If your looking for those please find someone teaching that. If you ARE interested in the real ancient battlefield techniques of the samurai and osoteric warriors of Warring States Period Japan, this is what you looking for. This art is a high quality self defense method that works regardless of the practitioners size, strength or age. This martial art WORKS at all levels!
Your mind is your best weapon. To fill your mind with the knowledge of the best integrated martial art and your first line of defense, is to protect yourself and your family. We offer Samurai Jujutsu-based lessons, integrated with Wing Chun, Mande Muda, Arnis, etc.
I offer personal training (i.e., resistance training, weight loss and muscle gain) and self-defense fight training.
I teach jiu jitsu, MMA, kickboxing, tai chi, cross fit and weapons arnis sticks/knife, and self-defense.
Because I'm not doing this solely to get paid. I want to live in a world where a large majority of the population has studied some form of the art. I believe that if a large enough group or community train the amount of negative things that happen will decrease because they would have something that instills them with purpose and meaning.
