I had the hardwoods on my entire first floor (900 sf) refinished by JV Galdino only 1-1/2 years ago. The sanding was good. I did not appreciate that they tried to convince me that it would be better to do 2 coats of sealer and only one coat of urethane. He acted like he would be doing me this big favor. Everyone knows the urethane is what protects the floor. Then when they were preparing to apply the cheap quality urethane (I looked it up online) he mixed a lot of thinner in with it to stretch it and cut his material expense. I told him not to do that because the urethane would not be thick enough to protect the wood floor. He got upset with me and tried once again to convince me that you can't apply urethane straight and applied it anyway. When I called the office to complain, she promised me they second coat of urethane would go down full strength. But for all I know they could have thinned it before they arrived. I have worked in the home improvement business for 15 years, I used to hire companies to install and refinish floors; I know how it's done. Unfortunately my work related companies did not service the area I was moving to. I wish I could post a picture in this review to show what the floor looks like now. The urethane has worn away to the wood in just 1-1/2 years, so I guess I was right. We don't even where shoes in the house, ever. Now I have all my furniture in the house and have to go through all the trouble to remove it and have my floors done again. I am not happy about this one bit! I would have paid more to have it done right. Unfortunately I was under very tight time restraints and needed to move quickly. Be very aware of JV Galdino. They don't even have the sense to not associate their name with this horrible quality of work.
