Introduction: YOU SAY: "I really love my tank and my fish, but I just don't have a lot of time to read really long intros.
ME: I truly understand, so here is the SHORT intro version
Welcome to Freshwater Aquariums ByTR, provider of PREMIUM (that means no less than THOROUGH cleaning and restoration of your tank to PRISTINE condition) aquarium cleaning service. Thorough service means a complete cleaning of ALL internal and external components (NOT just a bit of siphoning the gravel and a water change (like the non-caring quickie guys do)
Whether for your home or office, restaurant (or other) I also design and install new aquariums 30-gallon or larger, from scratch,
PLEASE NOTE: I only service aquarium tanks that are 30 gallons or larger in size. If yours is at least 30gallon or larger please contact me.
I do NOT service SALTWATER tanks or do tank REPAIRS.
My fee is $75.00 per hour (a minimum of two hours is required)
Your total cost will depend upon the size of your tank and the condition it is in.
Please CALL me or reply here for more details.
Thank you for your hiring consideration.
The very THOROUGH intro version:
I only clean FRESHWATER aquariums - I do NOT service SALTWATER tanks.
If your tank has any of the following:
FISH - TURTLES- SNAILS - LIVE PLANTS - CRAWFISH - EELS - SHRIMP-FROGS...you have just found the very best aquarium cleaning service pro.
If not already stated in your service request, please tell me what gallon-size tank you have (yours MUST be 30 gallons or larger) and I will reply promptly.
About Me
If you truly love your FISH and/or other aquatic creatures as I'm sure you do, then you and they deserve nothing less than the very best (100% thorough) aquarium cleaning service, to the end result of your tank fully restored to PRISTINE condition, with very HAPPY HEALTHY fish and a very HAPPY you!!
I am not the least costly around, but the saying "You get what you pay for!"most definitely applies to aquarium cleaning just as it does to ANY other product or service provided "out there". Please don't hire "el cheapo" out there (they try to clean -so to speak- 5-10 fish tanks a day) because you may very well be disappointed and you and your fish do not deserve that.
Hire ME who only cleans ONE tank a day - and trust me, you would want it to be YOURS!
My flat rate fee for cleaning is $75 per hour
My flat rate fee for telephone consultation is $35 per half-hour
How much will tank cleaning cost you?
Honestly and realistically, a THOROUGH initial cleaning can take anywhere between 2-3 hours if the tank is not too bad, or if the tank IS bad, between 3-4 hours, or if it's really bad 4-6 hours. Anyone who tells you it only takes 1-2 hours, is NOT performing a thorough, sincerely caring job and you will need a revisit within 2-3 weeks - and they'll do another poor job then too. I'm sorry, but you deserve to know the truth and hopefully, you will not allow your precious fish to be put at risk of their health and well-being and a miserable you, especially if they get sick or worse die after improper "cleaning or wrong water treatments".
Please read my all 5-star reviews. They speak for themselves...and do the right thing and hire the best! You and your fish deserve no less!
If interested, please reply with your tank size, a photo of your tank (just the front view), and the brand name and model of your filter(s), and tell me if you have replacement media (ceramic stones, filter cartridges, carbon packets, whatever your filter uses. If you don't, don't worry, I will bring the appropriate media along with the store receipt for reimbursement.
Thank you.
Thomas Rodre

The LONG intro version (as thorough as I am here, will serve to show you how thorough I am when it comes to providing my services to you and your cherished fish and aquatic life forms!
PLEASE NOTE: I only service aquarium tanks in NEW JERSEY, Eastern PA, and Staten Island, which are no less than 30-gallon size or larger.
Sorry, I do NOT service smaller tanks, FISH PONDS or do repairs.
Most politely, please DO NOT reach out to me if your tank is smaller than 30 gallons (unless you have more than one aquarium tank, one of which is at least a 30-gallon tank, in which case I will service any second or third tank of any size as well) Thank you for your understanding.
NOTE: If you have a built-in WALL tank my fees may be higher ($120 per hour) because many wall tanks - while being beautiful- are very difficult to access all of the internal and external areas and components to thoroughly clean 100%, so it may require more time and special equipment. (I am not saying this applies to your wall tank necessarily, I will need to see photos and get more details about yours)
I realize that this is a rather lengthy intro, but if you love your fish as much as I am sure you do...you will want to read this in its entirety.
My name is Thomas Rodre. I have been providing exemplary aquarium services since 2008.
Please read my reviews - they speak for themselves - and you'll see why I am the ideal choice for your service needs.
(Thank you for reading them...if you did!)
I am an extensively experienced FRESH WATER Aquarium Specialist, providing customers with PREMIUM* professional cleaning services, new aquarium design and installation services, and expert freshwater aquarium consultation.
*PREMIUM SERVICES - There are those out there who say that they "clean tanks"(so to speak) but they do "something" as fast as they can and are NOT very thorough, nor as caring as they should be. They try to clean 5-10 tanks a day. I am very, if not the most thorough in the business. I will restore your tank to a pristine, healthy condition, not only meeting but exceeding your expectations.
I only do ONE tank a day, not because I diddle-daddle, but because it takes HOURS to do it right! To be THOROUGH! These are your beloved FISH and other aquatic creatures...who deserve nothing less than the best TLC!
YES, I am more expensive, but as the saying goes: "You get what you pay for". This applies to aquarium tank cleaning services as it does to anything other product or service out there.
Prices start at $85 per hour for a 30-gallon tank (or larger). It will take between 2-3 hours or up to 3-4 hours of cleaning, depending upon your tank's condition. Tanks vary in condition (i.e. how dirty they are)
NOTE: I only service aquariums during the daytime hours. Preferably starting between 10-11 AM (if feasible and convenient for you). The latest hour I will schedule to start is 12 noon. (Absolutely NO night hour service)
NOTE: I do NOT provide services of any kind for SALTWATER Aquariums.
Why Hire Me?
FRESHWATER TANKS ONLY
If your FRESHWATER tank is no less than 30 gallons or larger and you are reading this, then you have just found the best aquarium services provider available.
I stand apart in several noteworthy ways from the "others" because I sincerely care about your fish, and crustaceans, and plan, ts, as if they were my own...and I really care about my own.
My attributes are Sincerely Caring and THOROUGHNESS!
Whether you are just starting out as a freshwater aquarium owner or you already own an established tank I provide personalized services...which will not only just meet but will exceed your expectations.
Existing Aquariums - Cleaning & Routine Maintenance of
What it will cost you is based upon TWO things:
1. The Size of Your Tank (measured in GALLONS) and
2. The Condition of Your Tank (Conditions range from Good to Extremely
Bad.
Tanks in Good to Fair condition only require around 2-3 hours of cleaning service. Tanks in poorer conditions require 3-4 hours and those in the extreme worst condition, 4-6 hours or even longer.
Tank Conditions
I rate the condition of tanks as follows: Good-Fair-Poor-Bad-Very Bad-Extremely Bad)
What determines the condition of a tank?
TWO things: 1. The water quality and color. 2. The amount of ammonia, debris, waste, filth (found in the substrate -gravel/sand/stones, algae, filter(s), and any dead fish or decaying food and/or rotting plants, parasites, etc....
The condition of your tank(s) will determine the extent of the cleaning service required and the estimated number of hours to do so thoroughly and properly restore your tank to the PRISTINE condition, it should be to have thriving, happy, healthy fish (and aquatic creatures) and especially a happy YOU!
One crucial feature that makes me "stand apart" from others -and ONLY with your permission of course) is that I will gently place your fish and living creatures in a temporary holding tank with oxygenated air bubbles, generated constantly for their comfort, safety, and health. This is because when siphoning your tank gravel, it stirs up debris, filth, and toxins (poisons) which jeopardize your fish's health and put them at risk of disease or even death when they are forced to breathe in that toxic waste and ammonia through their precious gills. Your fish do NOT deserve that.... and YOU do not deserve to have your fish get sick or die. However, if you do NOT wish me to remove your fish I will honor your wishes.
Note: I will only ask you to do this if you have up to 10 or fewer fish, If you have 10 or more I will NOT, but I will take extreme care while cleaning your tank.
For a fair and proper service quote estimate. please contact me here at Thumbtack. Be sure to include: Your tank size (in gallons), type (brand name and model) of filtration system(s), the approximate number of fish and any other aquatic creatures in your tank and as best you can, rate the condition of your tank.
Taking and sending me pictures of your tank - full frontal and top view and pics of your filter will help me immensely to quote you fairly.
Pricing - Estimates are based upon the THREE pricing factors (above)
Premium Service Consists of: Perform a water test analysis, thoroughly clean the outside and inside aquarium glass, siphon substrate remove debris, and replace 25% to 50% (or more as required) of the water. Treat the replacement water beforehand to remove Chlorine and chloramines (these chemicals are deadly to fish), replace any filter media as necessary, and thoroughly clean ALL aquarium components, inside and out which includes: the filter, heater, thermometer, decorations, plants, gravel, etc...) If required, I will remove and clean all of the substrate (gravel/sand/stones/pebbles) in their entirety and replace filter media. Add live bacteria (which allows for the immediate addition of new fish) and provide you with a complete checklist of everything I did plus any recommendations for having/maintaining a healthy, thriving aquarium and aquatic inhabitants
Note: This all-inclusive service is highly recommended for first-time customers, whose aquarium conditions may warrant such extensive servicing. Future maintenance visits usually require only my Standard Service on an ongoing basis. Less costly and requires less time.
You will be very pleased with your decision to hire me as were ALL my other thumbtack clients, both new and ongoing. (Read the Reviews!)
NEW AQUARIUM TANK SETUPS (NOT CLEANING SERVICES)
(30 to 150 gallon) FRESHWATER ONLY
Option #1 (You want an aquarium but you just don't have the time to shop don't know all that is required or are just not inclined to do it yourself)
First, we will speak, and then by using the checklist I will send to you, you will select everything you need (all the aquarium essentials from A-Z. I will then purchase and bring everything to you and set up your Brand New FRESHWATER Aquarium, totally from scratch, in your home, office, or other location of your choice. You will, of course, have given me your budget and I will give you the receipts for what I bought. I do NOT make money on anything I buy you. I do however charge a fee for my time ($35 per hour) in selecting and purchasing everything.
The purpose of the checklist is to guide me accordingly, as to your exact preferences about:
Aquarium Tank Size and Shape (30 to 150 gallons)
Aquarium Stand (if desired) Size and Shape (Open or Closed)
Ornamental Decorations (Natural Theme or Other)
Substrate -(Gravel/Sand) Color, Size and Type
Aquarium Rear Glass Backdrop - Plain or Theme

Water Treatments & Water Quality Test Kit
Option #2 (Highly recommended) I will accompany you to your local aquarium (pet) store and assist you in picking everything out. I will then come set it up at your designated location either the same day or on a day and time that's convenient for you. (My fee is $35 per hour)
Option #3 Self-Setup
You purchase everything and set the tank up yourself. I am available for consultation for a fee of $35 per 1/2 hour.
*Note: The cost for a new aquarium tank (as described above) will depend upon the tank, stand size and all the required essentials. There are Startup Kits that include a Tank, Hood with LED light, Filter, Heater, and Thermometer, and some also include Net and/or other basic needs. You will need to purchase additional essentials: Air Pump, Air Tubing and Air Stone, Substrate, Plants, Decorations, Water Treatments, Water Test Kit. and Fish Food
And this is BEFORE you purchase any fish, live plants, or other aquatic creatures.
RE: Selecting Species of Fish - Picking out the fish for your aquarium is a very personal thing. I do NOT select and purchase fish for my customers. However, I will guide you as to what species of fish may be put in toher with other like species.
Tropical Fish Categories by Behavior:
Aggressive (Intimidating, mean, may attack, injure, and/or kill other fish)
i.e. Community fish, which are friendly and get along very well with other like species)
Semi-Aggressive - Risk of them chasing, attacking, injuring, or killing other fish- there is no guarantee whether they will or will not. The risk is yours.
Like people and other animals, fish have their own unique personalities and just like people, some get along well with others...and some don't.
You cannot control that...but what you can control is AVOIDING a needless hostile environment by NEVER EVER mixing Aggressive fish with Community fish right from the get-go or whenever you add new fish to an existing aquarium.
Please feel free to contact me for an estimate and with any questions, needs or ,concerns you may have, here on Thumbtack.
Warmest Regards,
Thomas Rodre
