Your precious and irreplaceable family memories are extremely meaningful to you...I will treat them with ultra TLC as if they were my own.
I convert to digital format:
* Videotapes (all formats VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, Digital8, and MiniDV) to DVD, and if also desired, to USB Thumb Drive.
*Old Film Reels (regular 8mm, Super 8mm, and 16mm) with or without sound, to DVD and if also desired to USB Thumb Drive
* Color Slides 35mm to USB thumb drive or CD
All done Professionally, Promptly and Affordably b y me personally in my home-studio
With my multiple, state-of-the-art conversion equipment, my turnaround time is much FASTER than most others!
NEW! - As of this writing, Sandisk and other manufacturers of USB thumb
drives have introduced "dual thumb drives" which may be viewed not
only on computers, laptops, and Smart TVs but now also on your iPhone as well.
NOTE: These new dual thumb drives cost $39.95 (price subject to change by the manufacturer/sellers) and if desired I will purchase one (or more) for you at cost and you simply reimburse me (I will show you the receipt)

The detailed THOROUGH Intro: (if after reading this, if you still have any questions, special needs or concerns please call or message me.
What is most important to my very much appreciated Thumbtack customers, is that their precious, irreplaceable memories of their Family, Friends, People, Places, Pets and Things, which were recorded onto Videotapes, Old Film reels or Color Slides are:
1. Properly handled and treated with the utmost of care - as if they were my own- while they are entrusted to me to digitally convert them to DVD, and if also desired, to USB Thumb Drive.
2. That they are done Professionally, Promptly and Affordably, by me personally in my home-studio, where they are safe and secure at all times.
3. That they are converted in their entirety - 100% - no videotape or film reel footage or any part thereof, or color slides are ever left uncaptured.
***Rest assured that I carefully and methodically check and guarantee you of this.
4. That you get ALL of your tapes or films or slides returned to you in their original condition, along with your NEW DVDs (and thumb drive if also ordered)
5. That your DVDs and Thumb Drives are quality checked for completeness and that they are made COMPATIBLE*** with, and are playable in ANY of your devices: DVD player, computer or laptop with an optical drive (dvd player) or a Smart TV or I-phone with one or more usb ports.
***Note: The recommended format for usb thumb drives for compatibility with almost any - I repeat "almost any" playback device is "ex-fat" and for the movie files .mp4 Due to there being so many brands and models of playback devices, there are extremely rare occasions where a particular device will NOT recognize the thumb drive (usually Apple laptops or computers)This can be resolved in most cases by contacting your tech support with your make and model and serial number of your device.
NOTE: Once DVDs are created (burned) and if a usb thumb drive is also wanted, the DVD movie files (whose file extensions are named .vob) MUST be opened manually and exported to the thumb drive (minus the undesirable corruptive files, namely .ifo and .bup) and those .vob movie files are then converted to .mp4)

NOTE: The minimum size orders for converting videotapes are 6-12:
(in any format VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, Dig8 or MiniDV- of any length)
Film Reels 5-10 (8mm, Super 8mm or 16mm (with or without sound and of any size reel from 3" or larger)
50-100 Color Slides (35mm) in carousels or loose in bags or boxes
There are two ways to get your media safely to me:
*FREE pickup and delivery, (within 1 HR drive for qualified size orders) or
*You may bring your media to me by appointment.
Whether I pick up or you bring your media to me, there is NO deposit or advance payment required. You will receive a receipt for your property along with an estimate of cost and turnaround time.
I get paid only upon completion of your transfers.
PRICING
My prices are already lower than all others, and have just been further reduced, exclusively for Thumbtack customers, to make having your transfers more affordable for you and your family to enjoy watching!
Prices are based upon the quantity and length of your videotapes and film reels and the quantity of color slides.

LOSS of IRREPLACEABLE MEMORIES
Most importantly, even if you don't hire me, DO NOT allow your memories to be "sent out" "somewhere" to "somebody" you never get to speak with, let alone ever meet in person. To do so is to risk the LOSS of your irreplaceable memories in transit. Unfortunately, this has happened to wonderful people like yourself. They did NOT deserve that. YOU do NOT deserve this to happen to you, and it is totally avoidable!
Also, those 3rd party places take up to 4-6 weeks or longer and they do not even label your DVDs. THAT is NOT a personalized, caring service!

TURNAROUND TIME
My turnaround time depends upon the number of your tapes or film reels and their length:
Same-day or next day for the smallest orders 1-3 items
Approximately 2-3 business days for orders of 5-10 items
" 3-5 days for large orders of 10-20 items
" 7-10 days for larger orders of 20-30 items
10-14 days for the largest orders of 30-50 items
Note: Having your DVDs exported to USB Thumb Drive may require an additional 1-3 days (depending on the quantity) to allow for the process of exporting and converting files to .mpeg4 to make the thumb drive compatible with your playback device(s) (Computer/Smart TV/Lap Top)
WHAT I CAN CONVERT TO DVD and to USB Thumb Drive
*Video Tapes - (All formats) VHS, S-VHS, VHS-C, MiniDV and Digital 8)
Note: VHS-C is the tape that goes into an adaptor and then into the VCR. I have adaptors so you don't need to bring me yours unless you don't need them anymore.
*Old Film Reels - 8mm, Super8mm or16mm (Silent or with Sound)
*Color Slides 35mm (loose or in carousels) to a USB thumb drive
***Music can be added to silent films and slideshows for more enjoyable viewing. I add easy listening, instrumental music, which is time appropriate for the decade(s) of your film reels or you may request custom music.
NOTE: ANYTHING converted to DVD can also be exported to USB Thumb Drive. This is optional but highly recommended.
There are additional service fees.
Your DVD(s) and/or Thumb Drives can also be uploaded to YouTube
for an additional service fee (or you can do this yourself).
