David's Accounting and Financial Services
About this pro
64 hires on Thumbtack
I was apprehensive about hiring an accountant through Thumbtack... David was knowledgeable and professional. He was kind and put me at ease about my tax situation and did not judge me or my procrastinating ways. I was behind a few years and he brought me up to date without making me feel ashamed. He also advised me on a few financial issues that would make my life easier. Thank you for that. Scheduling an appointment with David was easy and convenient. His response time to questions was excellent and he communicated with me along the way. He even finished earlier than the anticipated time. I highly recommend this accountant and his services.Jul 13, 2018Verified
David was super. He came to my home and we went over the allowable deductions. He process the return and mailed completed return back to me. All I had to do was sign and mail. Thanks DavidApr 15, 2017VerifiedDavid M.'s reply
Thank you Steven for the kind review. I appreciate it and hope I can complete your taxes next year. Dave
A time was originally set up that I had to reschedule, which I did. Then David cancelled and rescheduled but never followed through and I never heard from him since. I think in the end this is a poor way to obtain someone's services and won't use this again going forward.Mar 16, 2016Verified
Dave was pleasant, honored the Thumbtack price quote and did a fine job of communicating throughout the process. Since I'm not an accountant I can't fully attest to his level of expertise but he seemed to know enough to get the job done for my modest returns.Feb 26, 2016Verified
David was very helpful in getting me started using QuickBooks! He explained things in a simple, common-sense based approach, and was very patient.Oct 3, 2015Verified
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I do 30 hours annually of continuing tax education. Thai is more than the 16 required by the Internal Revenue Service.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?In College, I actually wanted to major in Marketing and be an International Marketing Manager. In the classroom, Marketing was not my forte, although, I still remember my Professor saying "Build a Better Mousetrap and the World will beat a path to your door." I want to build that better mousetrap. I found that Accounting came very naturally to me. I decided then that Accounting would become my profession.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Be thorough and do your due diligence. Make sure you are getting exactly what you are paying for.
