Mr Fenton was in contact with me throughout the process. He was quick to respond to emails. He came to the ceremony on time, well prepared and organized. He delivered a ceremony that was exactly what we discussed.Aug 18, 2018Verified
Everything was perfect. Michael did a great job. Our family spoke of how special Michael created the ceremony. We couldn't be happier. xo, Loren & ScottJan 11, 2017Verified
Michael created a beautiful wedding ceremony for us! We got so many compliments on the ceremony from all of our guests. He was a pleasure to talk to and was very responsive to emails and phone calls. He was very professional and kept in touch before the big day to make sure everything was going smoothly and to confirm details for the wedding day. When other aspects of the wedding were getting a little crazy I never had to worry about our officiant. He was completely reliable and reassuring. He even arrived early to get the paperwork out of the way before the ceremony. I would absolutely recommend Michael to you as an exceptional officiant.Sep 20, 2016Verified
It was an honor to have Michael officiate our wedding. His presentation was perfect and full of beauty and wisdom. We received many compliments and statements of appreciation from guests. His words sparked reflection in couples in both new and long relationships. What a beautiful ceremony and beginning of our marriage.Sep 16, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? My personal goal is to cover my time and expenses as I perform these services for the love of it, not as a business. My fee is for the wedding ceremony and my time/expenses associated with it. If you want me attend a rehearsal there will be an additional fee depending on distance and time involved...we can negotiate it.Occasionally there might be extra travel or unusual expenses for which I will ask reimbursement. For example, one wedding was held at a resort in another state which required several hours driving and an overnight stay. My travel, meals and room were added to my fee. A deposit is not necessary. You may pay me just prior to the ceremony when we are completing the necessary paper work.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I like to have telephonic contact or in person meetings, where practical. At this time I determine the needs of the couple, their desires, and a bit about their history together. There are practical matters like times and locations that need to be shared, as well. If the couple desires, i will outline the contents of the ceremony. My ceremonies rarely exceed 20 minutes and most are 15. I tend to design romantic ceremonies and will add spiritual readings or thoughts, as well. Over the years I have collected many readings and, from experience, I know which ones are received through the heart. A key element in my process is that if when I read the ceremony aloud in the privacy of my study, if I tear up and feel strong emotion...I know it is a proper ceremony. I've been married 54 years and I know what successful marriage is all about...and I share that through my ceremony.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?My original education was in business, human resources. After retiring I got an additional BA in comparative religion and have just completed a degree in Studio Art, BFA. My corporate career was in human resources and I did a great deal of counseling. I also work as a volunteer in the Atlantic Health System in the area of Art Therapy, working with recovering patients and children.
