Very satisfied with Pete's Home Repair. He stretched out the ripples in our carpeting in the living room. We were ready to rip it up and get new carpeting but thought we would give it a try to have it stretched. Pete was a expert at this and in a short time the carpet looks great again. Don't hesitate to use Pete's services.

Daniel is amazing!!! He came in and helped us transform our apartment completely! We had a kitchen fire and needed to replace all of the carpeting in our 3 bedroom apartment. Not only did he give us a great and fair price, but he did a FABULOUS job! We would give him 10 stars if we could! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND using his services. And should we ever move and need to put in carpets, we will DEFINITELY be calling Daniel to come again!!!

Dean was very cooperative and helpful! The pricing was reasonable, and he worked very quickly with our short deadline to get the carpets installed. He was very flexible as our needs changed, and he got back to me in a timely manner when I had questions along the way. I got carpet in my living room, up a stairway, halls, closets, and two bedrooms. Seeing it next to old carpet, I cannot wait until I am able to get the rest of the house done. I would definitely recommend TLC to anyone who needs flooring!

I hired Camilo to paint my den, entry, and kitchen. Camilo and his team were extremely professional and did solid work. He was very responsive both before and after the work started, and was accommodating when I needed to move the date of the contract signing. I appreciated that Camilo's team carefully moved and wrapped all of my furniture and belongings. Nothing was damaged or out of place. He was happy to perform a few small touch-ups I asked for. I was also very pleased with his color and finish recommendations.

Richard was very professional, friendly and easy to work with. He was flexible with our complex and changing schedule, showed up on time, finished on time, and cleaned up after themselves. We had quite an amount of work to get our home ready before we moved into our new home. Replacing the carpet on the stairs was just one of the many tasks, but mandated and delicate one at that too. Richard, from I know a Guy...Renovations LLC, made taking care of the flooring one of the least stressful parts of getting the house ready. I didn't have to go back and forth with him trying to negotiate the best price. I got several quotes, but Richard gave me his best pricing right from the start. He saved me the hassle of going into the show room and picking out carpet. He tells me they know exactly how to get a house ready to move-in, that's what they do. He's clearly confident, professional and friendly and I trusted his product recommendation and went with it without looking at other samples. He could have just taken my money, but he follows up with me and tells me he thinks he will be able to get his hands on a better product at less money. I went with his recommendation, never even seeing the carpet. I'm considering doing hardwood floor stairs later. There are companies closer to me that can do the job as I moved an hour away. But if I decide to do this, I will be going back to Richard.

I hired Wall to Wall to install wood flooring in a couple of upstairs bedrooms. Steve Flores and a helper came to personally install my wood floors. They came out beautiful and the job was done in a timely, organized and professional manner. He was a pleasure to work with and extremely neat and clean, which was important to me. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to install new wood flooring. He has installed carpet and laminate for people I know that we're very pleased with his service and quality of his work and product which is why I called him first.

Can’t say enough good things about Jason. He offered to pick up my carpet from ABC, was willing to do the job immediately, quoted a VERY fair price, helped me empty the room of furniture, worked quickly and did a beautiful job. Cannot believe how smoothly it went, start to finish. Look no further, Jason’s the best!

Two entire floors of our house were fully re-carpeted. It included moving big heavy furniture. We have custom made doors, saddles, and baseboards, in white, and we are very fussy. Susan Gibbs was extremely helpful in guiding us to the best color and type of carpet for our needs. The installers did a marvelous job, didn’t damage a thing, and replaced everything as we requested. They left our house spotless. We have our rugs for about two years now and they look brand new. I would be very confident in using them again in the future.

David Morales from Carpet Cow is a highly professional, and more importantly, trustworthy guy. We had interviewed other flooring companies and know of the many horror stories from friends and neighbors about selecting the wrong ones. Both David and all his team were always professional, patient and courteous. With in one day of me posting this listing he was at my home. The next day we had amazing plush carpets installed! It amazing how fast and responsive Carpet Cow was. The office staff showed a high level of understanding and respect. We enjoyed working with all of you. We would definitely use this company again and would recommend you and your company without reservation.‎ Thank you Carpet Cow!

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to carpet a bedroom?

If you’re building a new home, remodeling, or ready for new carpet in your bedroom, you’ll want to know carpet installation costs. Here are the factors that affect the cost of your new bedroom carpet:

      • Installation cost per square yard: From under $2 to over $6. Carpet companies have a labor cost per square foot for installing your new carpet. Depending on where you live in the country, that rate can vary greatly. This rate does not include the cost of the carpet.
      • Type of carpet: from $1 per square foot to $20 or more per square foot. The fibers that make up your carpet will have a direct effect on cost. As an example, specialty wool carpets may start at about $10 per square foot, while a manufactured fiber like nylon may be about $2 per square foot.
      • Removal of old carpet: from $1 to $4 per square yard. Old carpet is labor-intensive to remove and also costs money to dispose of or recycle. The cost to remove carpet will depend on how much carpet you need removed and whether your installation pros offer a discounted rate for installing your new carpet at the same time.
      • Subfloor repair: from $40 to $70 per hour (plus materials cost). If the flooring underneath your old carpet is damaged, it must be repaired before the new carpet is installed. Many carpet pros can offer this service, or you can hire a handyman to handle the job.
      • Type of carpet pad: $1 per square yard and up, depending on the thickness. The cost to install carpet pad is typically included with the labor cost per yard of installing the carpet itself.

How much does it cost to install carpet on stairs?

The number of stairs you want carpeted in your home will directly affect your carpet installation cost. Putting carpet on stairs generally increases the labor time and requires a higher degree of detail than laying carpet flat. Where you live in the country also plays a role in your carpet installation cost. Carpet installation companies in smaller towns with a lower cost of living and a lower cost to do business (insurance, company vehicles, employee labor, etc.) can usually offer their customers lower rates than companies in large cities where the cost of living and the cost to do business are higher. Carpet pros will often quote you a flat rate per stair once they do a site visit to provide an estimate. They’ll take into account the size of each stair you want carpeted (including both the step and the riser), and what type of stair it is. For example, the cost might range between $3 and $10 per stair for labor only. On the higher end of the spectrum, box stairs or staircase stairs with spindles that must be worked around might cost between $15 and $25 per stair.

How much does it cost to install carpet?

If you’re ready to bring new life into your house with a makeover from the ground up, you’re ready to learn more about carpet installation costs. Installation costs vary greatly, depending on a number of factors such as the type of carpet, the number of square yards, any necessary repair work, the number of stairs you have, and where you live. Due to these variables, the national average cost of carpet installation ranges between $200 and $4,500.

To start planning for your new carpet, measure roughly how many square yards of carpet you’ll need. Research the main carpet styles and materials you like to get a feel for what they cost. Nylon carpets are typically the least expensive, and wool is one of the higher-end carpets. Prices per square foot might range from under $2 to over $10, depending on materials. Count the number of stairs you want carpeted; each one might average between $3 and $10 (or more for box steps). Carpet removal can be an added cost as well, averaging $1-$4 per square yard, depending on the company and regional disposal costs.

How much is the cheapest carpet?

If you’re looking to reduce carpet installation costs, there are several ways to save. Start by considering your carpeting needs. Manufactured materials such as polyester and nylon will be cheaper than natural fibers such as wool. From big box retailers, starting prices for olefin-based carpet are approximately 50 cents per square foot — making the cost under $5 per square yard. Indoor carpets made with olefin fibers are typically the least expensive on the market. Keep in mind that olefin fibers are not as soft on bare feet as other fibers, so are often used in areas like basements, playrooms or indoor patios. Nylon and polyester are good options to reduce carpet installation costs while still creating a cozy feel. The face weight, fiber construction and density of a carpet all affect the cost per square foot. The cheapest nylon or polyester carpets can start at just under $2 per square foot, making them about $18 per square yard. Lower-cost carpet tends to wear out more quickly and show stains more easily, so avoid light colors and vacuum regularly to keep the fibers clear of dirt that might age it too quickly.
