I went for my first drum lesson with Mike. He's really relaxed and a great teacher! Had a great experience.
I've been taking lessons with Tad for a few weeks now and I've been loving it! I came in as a total novice and Tad has helped with my confidence and technique as a drummer. His lessons are always very thorough and he's been patient with all of my questions, making sure that I understand all of the material :)
The drum lessons I've taken with John over the last few years have been invaluable to my drumming, whether it's solo in the studio or playing with others on stage. I had just started to play when we began lessons, working with stick control and timing. John provides an encouraging, positive atmosphere to build skills in technique and efficiency, and outlines practices and exercises to do on my own outside of the lessons. He also introduced me to essential warm up stretches and exercises, which are very handy for endurance or just ensuring I don't wear down too quickly while playing. John's lessons have been paramount to my goal of collaborating and performing with other musicians; I've advanced greatly since I first began studying with him. Highly recommended if you're just starting to play (as I was) or to fine tune your methods and learn something new if you've already been playing a while!
I am a 55yo retiree. I decided to peruse drum lessons now that I have time. I’ve always loved the drums since I was a kid. Im not a tech savvy person but I managed to link up with Jim through thumbtack. I could not be more pleased. He is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. He is very patient and very knowledgeable in percussion’s. The lessons are a lot of fun. I would highly recommend JIm as a drum teacher whether your just starting out as young person or you just want a hobby as an older person.
Goh is a great teacher! You can tell he really loves playing drums!
I have known Joe Huster for the past 3 years. Joe has been my sons drum instructor and mentor. Joe works extremely well with kids and can be trusted. If anyone needs a reference regarding Joe, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. Lieutenant Michael Bergbauer Union City Police Department NJ
Gene DiGeranimo is an amazingly talented drummer who has a passion for his music as well as his students. My son has been his student since he was six years old. He is now 18 and is still taking drum lessons with Gene. Gene has become more like family and we love him. Everyone I refer to him always raves about him. He retains his students for many years because of his professionalism, dedication and love.
I've been taking drum lessons with Thomas for a year and I have really improvedmy playing. He's an excellent teacher!
Charlie is the best.. Because of his formation at the New School for Jazz, the exercise/practice assignments that he gave me were very diverse and professional. I never felt judged but I felt challenged. I am so happy I got to study with Charlie.
Jonathan is a very knowledgable music teacher-for such a long time I was searching for a teacher that could relate to me and my personal style-it was his drum expertise that I was looking for and he delivered the goods. I've been playing drums for sometime now and it was great to work with someone as patient and down to earth. He really related to me and understood when I explained what I was looking for. He threw me some classic Zep-John Bonham style techniques and taught me more bass style combinations that I was missing in my library of music. Taught me some great stuff. After the lesson I enjoyed putting on tefillin. I might start guitar lessons in September. I Chai'ly recommend Jonathan Kahanovitch-School of Rock-The Best!-Adam Bazell
Jay is the best!! I have absolutely no rhythm, but I needed to learn three songs on the drums and somehow - quite magically - made it work. He's patient and kind and smart and funny and, best of all, seriously knows his stuff. We had a blast and I totally rocked out!! I 100% recommend Jay without reservation.
Excellent teacher! He goes at the pace that works best for me but encourages me to go beyond my comfort zones. Great for understanding Jazz Charts too!
My son really enjoys his lessons with Willy. Willy is a very patient and encouraging instructor and knows how to work with a child and get him to respond. We're hoping my son sticks with drums and continues learning from Willy.
Teo is an amazing drum instructor. Knowledgeable, reliable and professional. Can't ask for more.
My daughter is a very shy 9 year old who doesn't know how to read music and has no formal training. He allowed me to sit in on her session so she felt comfortable. He referred to her favorite song in order to connect with her as well as to teach her specific musical notes and rests. He assisted her in choosing her new drumsticks and she hasn't stopped practicing since. If you're looking for an instructor, I would definitely recommend.
Very knowledgable about his craft and conveys that knowledge well. Super nice, chill guy too! So lessons are fun and not stressful but are still informative
I used to play in a metal band called "Emmure" for 5 years. I have the knowledge it takes to help you advance your music career, not only on a playing level, but on a business level as well.
I give quality drum lessons for 30-60 minutes. I go to Rutgers University for music education and performance with a concentration in percussion. I learn from the best in the business. If your child is thinking about taking lessons or if you're an adult who has always wanted to learn how to play the drums, then I am what you are looking for.
I aim to help people learn with good techniques. I am desirable, reliable and dependable. I aim to make my students the best in the world.
If you want to hire an instructor who is a working professional musician as well as an accomplished teacher, look no further! Whether you are a beginner or an advanced player, I can help bring your musicianship to the next level and give you real world advice on being a musician. I've been a professional percussionist in NYC for the past 4 years playing Broadway shows, orchestral concerts in Lincoln Center, Radio City Music Hall, & Carnegie Hall, and with over 40 different bands of various styles including rock, pop, hip-hop, Latin, folk, African, and many more. I've also played with big name artists such as Kansas, Casting Crowns, Questlove, Andrew W.K. & Steven Curtis Chapman, among others. Last year, I toured Italy twice playing drums for 75 concerts in 3 months. I have a Master's in Percussion Performance, marched with Boston Crusaders Drum Corps, and have taught over 80 private students as well as drumlines at 6 High Schools in the past 10 years. I will also be one of the percussionists for Disney's Candlelight Orchestra at Epcot this December. (For more of my credentials, please check out my linkedin.com/in/brianradock) My parents have been professional drummers/percussionists for over 30 years with Disney and many acclaimed artists. My mother had a very successful teaching career here in Orlando before she relocated as the percussion professor at Rollins College and private instructor for over 80 students in Middle/High School. My step-father is the drum set professor at UNF in Jacksonville. Between their instruction throughout my development and my own professional experience, I can teach you how to play any percussion instrument, read music at a high level, AND how to find work as a musician in the future! If you want to play drums as a hobby, that sounds great too! I cater to each students needs instead of teaching the same syllabus I'm very easy-going, upbeat, and patient in my teaching methods. After all, music should be fun right? If you have a Middle School or High School student, I can prepare them for Solo & Ensemble with a library of hundreds of pieces or for drumline/drum corps auditions. I can also prepare students looking to be music majors/minors in college. I just recently moved back to Orlando, which is my hometown, so I am ready to build my teaching studio back up to what it once was ASAP. I look forward to meeting you and playing some music! (I am still working out details to have a studio space to teach out of, but can drive to you for lessons at your home or at your school. Will update this page once I have a studio space.)
