It is a pleasure to work with Dillon. He was hired to teach piano to my two sons. He is very knowledgeable and patient to be working with 2 boys in back to back with piano lessons. He has made the process very fun for my kids and they like working with him. Also, after their piano lessons, he works with them on their reading and math skills to keep them current and help with their weak areas.

Robert is a great Italian instructor! I have studied Italian previously, but it has been many years - he has been very patient with me as I struggle through it again. And, he is very flexible with scheduling, which I appreciate greatly due to my crazy schedule. I would recommend him highly as an Italian instructor! All classes are a great combination of conversation, grammar, and reading/translation.

He helps the students by giving short (but easy to grasp) techniques. If you need help with SAT writing, then you should get tutoring from him. In the classroom, he always makes sure that you're on task without hovering over you.

I’ve taken my SATs a couple of times and although I am not a bad student, I just felt that I could have done better, I knew it inside, but just could not find where it was. I got the Getting Into The Ivys tutoring program and worked with a Chelsea tutor. What I really like about my tutor is that she’s a qualified teacher and is professional and knows how to actually teach concepts properly. I really did not want to take any chances. Going to university is very important to me and my family. Susan my tutor developed a special study plan just for me, which helped me focus on my key weaknesses, without feeling de-motivated, in-fact I was so enthused by her, I actually looked forward to all my sessions. She is a brilliant tutor and I am so very grateful. I was able to increase my composite core by 100. I am very pleased.

Kate helped to revamp my resume since it had been awhile since i had made any updates. She was very patient, and took as long as you needed over the phone to get all the information. Even though my job is very different she also took the time to do research and learn more about the industry and position. This showed me that she was all in to get it right, which in the end it looked and read great. Kate was really able to portray everything i would have wanted on my resume and more, making me feel much more confident heading into the job search. I would highly recommend Kate for her writing skills, patience, experience and work ethic. Thanks again Kate!

Michael is a very experienced teacher. We are developing a study plan for my teenage Chinese stepdaughter to master the English language. He spends hours preparing material for sessions with students that he tutors. He is patient and he understands the needs of non-English speaking Asian immigrants. He is truly a gentleman and shows great respect when he communicates with others, no matter what their age, race or nationality. Thank you, Michael, for all that you do.

Dan has made a world of difference helping our 16 yo prepare for the SAT. I highly recommend Dan for students struggling with test anxiety and/or reading comprehension. Our daughter’s reading scores increased significantly with his help. Dan is a patient teacher and great at test-taking strategy, but what we appreciated most was the confidence he gave her for test day.

I hired Robert after reading his tutoring philosophy. My son, a consistent high honor roll student, was struggling with 10th grade algebra 2/ trigonometry honors. After the second semester assessment said he was in danger of failing we knew he wasn't going to catch up on his own. I had no idea how to find a tutor and stumbled on Thumbtack. Robert's breadth of knowledge, not just trig, is quite remarkable. He is a gifted teacher. He quickly assessed my sons deficiencies and set out to bring him up to speed. Over the next several weeks, with weekly sessions, Robert would assign my son work and explain the topics in a way that that he finally started to get it. The next step in their relationship was that Robert convinced my son that if he put in the work he was capable of much more than just getting by. Robert has never tried to "sell" us more sessions, there were weeks where he felt he wasn't needed and we would skip those weeks. The end result was a 96 on the Regents. Quite a turnaround for a student who was failing in January and was hoping to just get a passing grade on the Regents. Won't hesitate to bring him back into our home for any future challenges my son may face.

Being an international student in Boston I had quite a few difficulties with English, and so I have reached Lauren to help me out with writing and editing. Lauren is an extraordinary academic writer who writes artistically and passionately on subjects that matter. Most importantly, as a tutor she creates a warm, comfortable and patient environment and has helped me tremendously as a professional with writing and editing applications and different essays. She is an exceptional teacher and person and I would whole-heartedly recommend working with her.
