Introduction: Singing is an athletic event and voice training is most effective when approached that way. Lessons are highly individualized to each student's needs, focused on achieving their unique goals and interests. I offer private voice and piano lessons and have been teaching for the past 11yrs. For voice lessons, I teach both classical vocal technique, as well as contemporary commercial technique (belting for musical theater, pop, jazz, country etc). All lessons are currently online and have been since March 2020.

Amy is a wonderful vocal coach! Though we have had our voice lessons through Zoom, we've still got to have loads of fun, and the techniques Amy taught and guided has helped me sing really well in my company's 2021 annual party, and I've got so many compliments from my coworkers. I'd highly recommend Amy to those who would love to improve their singing skills as well as having fun throughout all the lessons.

Amy is very knowledgeable about music, but more importantly she is a very dedicated teacher. She always jots down notes on what you should work on every practice and notes your progress each class. Most importantly, she's patient and has a very positive attitude, which makes learning with her an absolute joy. Music is hard enough to learn - work with Amy and have fun learning it.

Amy is friendly and patient and is great at tailoring each lesson to what the student needs - both vocally and mentally. She has equipped me with practical tools, not abstract concepts, in order to improve my voice and is great at communicating how to achieve proper physical form even when it is impossible to show it. I've only been working with Amy for six months and there is already a marked improvement in both my singing and speaking voice. I would highly recommend her for students of all ages and experience levels.

Amy has been our piano teacher for several years and after looking at various teachers - I was so happy to see the child friendly, kinesthetic and age appropriate approach she utilizes to not only teach songs - but how to read music. My son has special sensory, and behavioral needs - and she's always supported and encouraged him to be himself and has been so flexible in letting him take off his shoes or modifying lessons to keep him motivated. Her love for children and passion for her craft has won our hearts. She is also so talented and inspirational through her singing, and community work. My son who does not do well with many teachers has warmed up completely to Amy's sweet personality and care. I am beyond thankful for the important work she is doing with my children. She also pays attention and notices the child's unique talents and goes based off of it in lessons, as was the case with my daughter. I can't recommend her enough to friends and other homeschoolers <3!

Amy is fantastic! Both my daughters love lessons with her her warm and encouraging style is very effective! She is also very understanding of each family's individual needs and provides flexible scheduling which is a huge benefit in working with her. Strongly recommend her!

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors of Music in Performance and Pedagogy from Ithaca College and am also specially trained in vocal technique for non-classical singing technique (musical theater, pop, jazz, country, r&b, rock etc) from the Contemporary Commercial Music Institute at Shenandoah University.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Singers and pianists of all ages and levels. I specialize in working with female voices.
