My goal was to move further up the ladder in my professional career. I was stalled and felt like a writer with writers block. Upon meeting Mr. Stone, his listening to me, where I was and where I want to go and then assimilating down what the fundamentals were that I need to build on and show me how - was an eye opener. He does what few people can do: Listen and then create, execute and deliver results. He was a life changer for me and someone I go to periodically now and then when I am unsure of which direction or action to take.

I have had the opportunity to experience Mrs. Washington doing several presentations for the educational and clinical professional community within private and public settings. Her wealth of knowledge in the field of education, counseling and "best practices" is exceptional. She is easy to work with and inspires any project that you may need her expertise for. Keep up the great work....Sincerely, Dr. Tamiko Smith, MBA

After years of devoting myself training in preparation for a professional career, I found myself without a “plan b” and unsure of how to make a living. I was so fortunate to connect with Judy. Judy invested her time and effort to help me collect all of my thoughts, discover and define my goals, and together we compiled an organized step-by-step plan that made the whole process super manageable and straightforward. I have never been so productive as I am now, after working with her, and it has carried into all areas of my life. I feel confident now that I can do anything I set my mind to, using the tools that Judy has so graciously provided me - I feel like I’m on a roll!

I met with Jerry today for personal and career coaching and it was a really great experience. It was my first meeting and I think it went very well. It's true what others have said, the meeting really feels more like a conversation than any other type of therapy and it really gets to the root of what you want to accomplish and defined steps on how to achieve your goals. I left feeling refreshed and with a very positive outlook.

Working with Jeanine was an absolute pleasure and it is remarkable to see how much positive transformation she has facilitated in my personal and professional life in just 6 weeks. It is evident that coaching is Jeanine’s passion and she has an incredible gift. Her style is incredibly personalized, consultative, thoughtful, and inspiring, and I found myself empowered by her ability to offer a plethora of resources and guidance. Now that we have completed coaching, I am particularly grateful for Jeanine’s conscious efforts to serve as a teacher while giving me the tools to create change in a gradual, sustainable way. Through meditation, intention-setting, and reflection, Jeanine has enabled me to achieve heightened self awareness, feeling more centered, present, and confident. Not only did Jeanine help me accomplish every one of my goals that I set for coaching, but I am now pursuing my dream career and ready to continue to use the tools that she provided to continue to evolve my aspirations while savoring the journey along the way.

Scott has been an invaluable therapist for me for a few years now. I've gained so many strengths and I've been able to make so many changes under his care and counseling. More recently, if it weren't for him, my situation may have eaten me alive and he was there literally every step of the way to make sure that didn't happen. His methods of therapies are wonderful. He's generous, professional, relatable, relaxing, reliable, consistent, and punctual. My favorite, though, is when he's leading into a breakthrough. He's direct enough to get you there without needing to be too "psycho-babbly". I recommend Scott 12 out of 10 times!

At the age 47 and a little out of shape, I needed to get in top physical shape for a police academy. (In New Jersey the age limit for police officers is 35, but there is no age limit for correction and sheriffs dept)...... so I new if I wanted this job in corrections, I had to be ready, and if anybody has been to any police academy, you know it's a para military atmosphere. Screaming at you from day one, not caring about your feelings. Their only concerns is that you will be physically and mentally strong in law enforcement environment. The first Day I walked in, I talked to Bob about my mental and physical weaknesses, and he told me not to worry, and to listen to everything he had to say moving forward. I literally felt at ease from that moment on. Now it wasn't always easy, Bob pushed my mental and physical abilities beyond I thought I could ever reach, and after 6 months of running, sprinting,spinning,rowing,pull-ups, push-ups, weight training, jump roap, etc., I found myself in the best physical and mental shape of my life. Bob is more than just a trainer, he is a trainer, a life coach, a friend, (and even an enemy, lol when he had to be). I am proud to say that on July 12, 2016 I graduated as a New Jersey Juvenile Justice Commission corrections officer, cycle 29 and have been working in the jail ever since, and I couldn't be happier about my new career in law enforcement, but most of all, I couldn't of been happier about the choice I made walking into Bob's studio, because I know I could have never done it on my own. Sometimes in life we need a little help to get to the next level, and that's why I made the investment in myself to get to the next level with Bob Pelsang!!!!! Sincerely, S.C.O. T. Venezio

I was referred to Marcus by a coworker who sometime ago, received some help with her career troubles she was having. Marcus assisted her with Resume, Cover letter and interview prep, which is how she landed the job we both are currently now working. I came to Marcus looking for some life coaching, and I am happy to say I have more clarity on how to precisely move with intention in my life to acquire more happiness and certainty.

Jessica guided me through my career search by helping me come up with a plan and how to deal with my feelings of impatience and uncertainty. With her help I was able to define my goals and I felt much more confident in my interviews. I liked that I was given homework after each session to develop tools that would unblock my mental and spiritual barriers and we would discuss the progress in subsequent sessions. With her expert coaching I've been able to formulate the tools and processes to facilitate listening to my inner voice and overcoming specific doubts. Jessica has a caring, fun demeanor which is a pleasure to work with. She doesn't "talk at" you and listens intently to what you have to say. I love that she gently challenges you to see things from a different perspective. She created a safe, comfortable environment to express myself freely. I always looked forward to our meetings. I left every session with a deeper level of self awareness and feeling energized to tackle any obstacle in my career search. I would highly encourage anyone looking for a Life or Career Coach to seek out her services.

I enjoyed the personal interaction Helene provided throughout the process of drafting my resume. It felt like she really put in the time to get to know me and what my objectives were before putting pen to paper. The turnaround time was a reasonable 3 days from start to finish I'm glad i paid a little extra this time around because several years ago, i went with a cheaper service and the entire process was impersonal, slower, and my resume felt generic

    About

I am a professional astrologer who uses your individual, one-of-a-kind birth chart to help you gain insight into yourself, which allows you to transform your life and become empowered! A birth chart is a blueprint of your soul's purpose and allows you to see the patterns set early in life that may be holding you back now. Natal chart readings with a focus on career, relationship, etc. are available as well as astrological life coaching/counseling. My mission is to inspire, transform, and empower through astrological insight!

    About

I am offering simple steps to your big success. Whether your picture of success is a more calm and content life, a satisfying relationship, more affluence, or less weight, your success is as individual and unique as you. Knowing your purpose, setting goals, and planning the positive action steps to experience your goals will bring you happiness, contentment and abundance. We will work together to help you design your life, instead of just living with what's thrown at you day after day. You have choices. You can do it. Many of my clients are home-based network marketing entrepreneurs, and we work together to maximize social media in marketing and working out goals and action plans that help reduce the stress of making "every conversation they have about their product or business opportunity". They feel like they have alienated their friends and family by constantly "recruiting". We can agree for some people this works, and "back in the door-to-door" day, it was effective; however, now, with the advent of social media, there are many more ways to reach an audience that wants to hear about your product or business opportunity. We work together to set goals and action steps and celebrate success. Weight loss is another popular topic for my clients. My job is to encourage you on a path of positive abundance and success, your success.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

    What is a career coach?

If you’re interested in furthering your career and want expert help, a career coach is a smart solution. A career coach is a professional you hire to guide you during a job search or a career transition, or to help you improve and advance in your current position. A career coach analyzes your work situation and learns what your professional goals are. They then create a strategy to help you achieve your targets. Throughout the process they should provide objective feedback and guide you in approaching the process strategically. Here are some of the tools and tasks a career coach may assist you with:

    • Helping you build a strong resume that reflects your work history, potential, and skills
    • Coaching for interviews and strategies for solid answers built around your resume and the target job
    • Defining your career goals
    • Creating a plan for job searching
    • Improving networking strategies and skills
    • Developing strategies for negotiating raises or promotions
    • Assessing why you’re not getting where you want to go
    • Identifying new positions or career opportunities that fit your skills

    What is a life coach?

A professional, accredited life coach works with people to help them make important changes in their life, either growing in their profession or changing gears in their personal lives. They help clients turn their dreams or wishes into realistic, attainable goals. They guide people through the process of making life changes by helping them evaluate the steps they must take to reach a particular goal, then help them decide how — and whether — to take those steps in the most efficient, effective and rewarding way possible. A life coach acts as a motivator, strategist and accountability partner. Unlike a therapist, a life coach doesn’t help solve problems from your past — they’re focused on helping you move forward with new ways of acting and thinking that will help you reach your goals. Some people specialize in particular types of life coaching, including life balancing coaches, small business coaches, executive coaches and personal finance coaches. Some meet clients in person, while others hold consultations over the phone.

Regardless of which type of life coach you’re interested in, make sure the person holds an International Coach Federation (ICF) credential. There are three tiers of credentials: Associate, Professional and Master, which require coaching experience ranging from 100 hours to 2,500 hours.

    Why is career counseling important?

Career counseling can help you discover your career path, help you overcome challenges preventing you from finding happiness in your job, or help you learn more about career opportunities that are available to you. Career counselors are typically counselors who specialize in helping guide people into their best career choices. As professionals, they have typically completed a master’s degree in counseling with a focus on career counseling and bring a nuanced understanding of the emotional blocks that prevent someone from doing what they love or getting ahead in their current position. Here are some of the ways that career counseling can help:

    • Identify your skills and talents and how they correlate to different career paths
    • Educate you about the educational requirements for launching in various careers and what earnings can look like
    • Help you understand the kind of environment you want to work in, and which careers are best suited for that
    • See opportunities to transfer your existing skill set to other career areas
    • Help you identify causes of tension or unhappiness in your current career and how to overcome those difficulties
    • Help you create a game plan for moving forward
    • Provide a safe space for you to understand your feelings about career choices you’re making

How much does a life coach cost?

A life coach helps clients set and reach professional and personal goals, develop positive habits, and deal with stress. Some people meet with a life coach once or twice, while others form an ongoing professional relationship, meeting regularly in person or on the phone. The average national cost to meet with a life coach ranges from $80 to $130 an hour. Some coaches offer per-session pricing, especially for one-time meetings; expect to pay an average of $100-$125. People who want to work with a coach over a period of time to explore life transitions, career growth or lifestyle changes may be able to get discounted pricing in a package. For example, three 60-minute sessions cost an average of $300, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $350, and four 60- to 90-minute sessions plus unlimited contact between sessions cost an average of $400. Some specific types of coaching, such as relationship or marriage coaching, cost more than standard life coaching. For instance, three 60-minute relationship coaching sessions cost an average of $500, four 60-minute sessions cost an average of $550, and six 60- to 90-minute sessions cost an average of $650 when purchased as a package. Training and experience can also affect the cost of hiring a life coach. An Associate Certified Coach, who holds a certification that requires only 60 hours of training and 100 hours of coaching experience, will charge less than a Master Certified Coach, who typically has at least 200 hours of training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience.

    What is a career counselor?

If you’re feeling lost in your career path, overwhelmed, in need of a job but confused as where to start, or ready for change but uncertain what you want, a career counselor is a good choice for you. A career counselor is typically a licensed professional who has earned a master’s degree in counseling — likely with an emphasis on career counseling. Each state has different licensing requirements for career counselors, so be sure to research before reaching out to a pro.

Due to their academic backgrounds, career counselors often have a more holistic and in-depth approach than a career coach. Career coaches are not regulated by states and also tend to be more business-focused — a good fit for those who know what they want but need help achieving it. On the other hand, a career counselor provides guidance and clarity around some of the more emotional aspects that job hunting and career movement entail. Career counselors meet with you in a series of one-on-one sessions. They assess your personality and learn what drives you. They get a detailed understanding of your work history and your hopes, and often work to help you discover any internal blocks preventing you from going where you want to go. Hiring a career counselor is appropriate at any time in your career, from recent graduate to executive-level management.

Hire skilled professionals for absolutely everything.
