Waking up at 6am is difficult and being energized is even more challenging. But Peter is able to keep me focused, engaged and enthusiastic with my 6am workouts and I leave feeling great and ready to tackle the day. He has listened to my workout goals and developed a personalized workout plan for me. I feel like I am working out more effectively than ever before and I can't wait to see the results (I am only a week in). I was impressed the first session when he said that it was a better use of his and my time if I did my cardio warm-up before he arrived so that I wasn't paying him to watch me run on a treadmill - I feel like that showed he respected that I was paying for training and he wanted to make sure I got my money's worth. Peter has also given me great advice about nutrition and workouts outside of my training sessions with him. I feel like he knows his stuff and will ensure I don't injure myself or strain anything while at the same time pushing myself beyond what I think I can do. I feel great and I'm very satisfied so far and would recommend him as a trainer to anyone.

IK Fitness is wayyy above the rest. Ian is knowledgeable in all aspects of training, nutrition and fitness. I started with him in 2005. He provided a whole plan of cardio, weight training, and nutrition. He allowed me to achieve my goals, was forever encouraging and always ready to push me when I got lazy! The workouts are great and never boring, but the best part of Ian is the follow up he provided when I wasn't in the gym, just to check in on my progress!!! Super professional

Lucie is absolutely the real deal and a true expert for personal training AND nutrition! I trained with Lucie for about a year and saw the most amazing changes in my body composition and strength than at any other time in my life. I had been around different sports conditioning/ workout programs for about 15 years, since my mid-teens, but can honestly say that I never really knew proper training AND nutrition until I worked with Lucie. You can see that I capitalize "AND" when I say training AND nutrition because when you work with Lucie she proves how much they truly go together. She is truly adept in both training and nutrition and gets results!! She practices what she preaches and her work ethic is contagious. Lucie taught me changes for what to eat and when to eat it. What to have before and after a workout. How much of a certain type of food or nutrient to have a day. How heavy I should be lifting. Everyone is different Lucie can customize based on the client and their goals. If you put forth the effort Lucie has the knowledge and passion for fitness to change your life. Lucie taught me all of these aspects to training and I am forever grateful for the changes she helped me achieve.

When I first met Erika, I had just set out to attempt my first ever sprint triathlon. Up to that point, I had been exercising on my own and lost over 100 lbs. I still needed lots of training and only 8 weeks until the race. What Erika then did for me was above and beyond what I could have done on my own. We began training; building powerful muscles and developing balance and stability. She even helped with nutrition planning and recovery tips. I completed my first sprint triathlon but felt my result was lackluster. For a first timer, this was normal. The next day I quickly signed up for another sprint triathlon for that summer. Once we began training for that, Erika amazed me yet again. The training sessions became much more intense. She provided solid motivation to keep up my mental strength. We built lots of explosive muscle and incredible cardio stamina. I finished the 2nd triathlon in the top 50% overall. It felt amazing. The training also translated well in my other hobby, soccer. The results were very real.

Over the years I've worked with 3 other trainers and I would have to say that working with John has been the best. His knowledge, of not only exercise, but nutrition, supplements and rehab protocols gives you a one stop shop to help you completely transform your body. He works around your goals, any injuries you may have and knows his stuff inside and out. Working out with John has been like working out with a family member that cares about you, but actually knows what they're talking about. Since I started working with John, I have lost 25 pounds but have done so, while eating more real food, while rarely, if ever, feeling hungry. During that time I also have lost 11% body fat, which means all the weight I have lost is fat. I am also stronger now than I have ever been. Each workout with John has been different, but there is always incremental progress that you see accumulate. With John it's less of a fad diet or workout program and instead part of a lifestyle plan to help you reach your goals while being the healthiest you can be. I always recommend John to people and have even had my mom start training with him. Our family has interacting with Michael Demakis on various levels. My daughter, a soccer player, has worked with Mr. Demakis on strength and agility for approximately the last 2.5 years in preparation for, and now playing college soccer. His training in combination with his recommended nutritional program has yielded great results. Specific areas of improvement that we can directly relate to Mr. Demakis include: strength, agility, ball control, endurance, speed and acceleration and most importantly a strong core that helps resist injuries and improves rate of recovery. I personally have worked with Mr. Demakis on nutritional program that has allowed me to lose 43 pounds. My wife and I now work work with Mike on a weekly basis to improve my strength and flexibility. She is not only a health wikipedia who knows all about food and nutrition, but is also vastly knowledgeable about all sorts of holistic healthcare methods like natural supplementation and treatments like acupuncture. She is really invested in her clients' health, and she doesn't just dole out advice; she works with you to help you learn what works best for you and your lifestyle. However, if you need a push, she'll definitely give you that too! Sandra is a real delight. We have been working together for about one month now and I already feel stronger and have put on muscle weight. I look forward to my work outs with Sandra as she really knows her stuff when it comes to fitness and nutrition. Also, she makes the work outs different every time so I do not get bored. She is very patient and will push you when you need it. At the same time, she is mindful of any prior injuries you may have had. I would recommend her to friends and family.

Artie Ostrom has been working with me as my personal trainer since Jan 2013 now and I recommend him highly to anyone who is concerned about their health and physical condition and here’s why. Back in March 2012 I underwent Rotator cuff surgery on my left shoulder and a week or so after, went to Rehab. When I got the OK from the Dr. to go to a trainer to regain my strength and reflexibility and also entering my 60’s I decided to make the investment in myself to get in shape so I can enjoy my life going forward. I joined Jersey Shore Fitness Shop in Bradley Beach but got a little intimated with all of the machines and apparatus there. I asked the staff, who was very helpful and they told me that as far as a Personal Trainer is concerned that Art Ostrom was very good. I asked around and they all seem to point in his direction. Besides, he has very impressive credentials – as an ACE Certified Personal Trainer with a degree in nutrition. It was the best decision I have ever made! In very little time Artie got me not only back in shape but stronger than ever in that shoulder. A few shorts years after I developed another bone spur in my right shoulder and needed to have the same surgery on that side as well. After “rehabbing” that side, I got released from the doctor and he said, whatever or whoever you went to before, go back to him and do the same on the right side as you did on the left because that side is in great shape! Thus, I’ve been with him ever since! Every training session is always a little different then the last and the man is always thinking! For instance, when we start at the gym, there may be only a couple of people but the place fills up pretty quickly so the exercises he has planned for me sometimes can’t be done with the machine he wants to do it. He quickly thinks of another way to get the job done with another machine. He pays special attention to Nutrition and I get reminders by email all of the time about drinking water or asking what I had to eat after the workout the night before. He’s a special trainer, with a lot of charisma, easy to work with and very knowledgeable! I never thought I’d say this, but I really enjoy my workouts with him! How much does a nutritionist cost?

A nutritionist provides expertise and guidance to help clients with all diet-related health matters, including losing weight, gaining muscle, improving their sports performance, and managing diabetes or high cholesterol. Nutritionists can help people learn to follow special diets in a healthy way, such as becoming vegetarian or vegan or developing a low-sodium or gluten-free eating plan. The average national cost of a nutritionist is $60 to $100. Are nutritionists covered by health insurance?

Nutrition counseling can be a critical component of good health care, especially for people recently diagnosed with diabetes or high cholesterol who need to adhere to a specific diet. People also meet with nutritionists for help developing a healthy vegetarian or vegan diet, developing an eating plan to lose weight or gain muscle, or improving their sports performance by changing their diet. Nutritionists may be covered by health insurance depending on your reason for meeting with them. Nutrition counseling is more likely to be covered if it is part of a doctor-prescribed treatment for a particular medical condition, such as diabetes, obesity, high blood pressure or coronary heart disease. For example, Medicare covers medical nutrition therapy services only for people diagnosed with diabetes or kidney disease, as long as they get a referral from their doctor. Also, insurance providers more often cover nutrition visits if the patient has been referred to a registered dietitian within the carrier’s network of providers. Insurance plans vary greatly, so research your benefits before visiting a nutritionist.
