I’ve had trainers and nutritionists in the past and hadn’t found the right fit – just not worth the time, money, and simply couldn’t stick to it. All of this changed when I first met Ian. I was amazed with how instantly comfortable I felt with him and our first 3 group sessions flew with each visit a new workout that left me feeling invigorated! Ian doesn't have a complex where he has to break me and make me painfully sore for days. He is flexible to my schedule and we work out of my apartment once a week and two times at his beautiful studio near Wayne where he has every tool imaginable from classic gym machines, treadmills, ellipticals, to monster tires and hammer swings, trx, battleropes etc. It was a no-brainer to sign up for 20 visits and I'm finally excited to workout and see the transformation I knew I was capable of all along. I started with Tommy in December but didn't try his alkaline vegan diet till January. I'm not a true vegan like him but I'm trying the best I can. I met Jim through a friend with whom I trained for an ultra marathon. Initially , I was skeptical about his theories which included vegan diets and slow heart rates!! However, after signing up and having my first phone call with Jim, it was obvious he managed each person based on their current status. He never suggested vegan diets or any drastic change in what I should eat, but he did provide specific guidelines in healthy eating and ensured that I was cutting back on sugars and processed foods. He followed up regularly on my progress and watched my training efforts through online apps etc. He was very thorough and wanted specifics about how I felt and what my effort was like with each workout he gave me. This was particularly helpful after my knee started hurting ( patella tear and tendinitis ) and I had to cut back on the duration of my runs. If it hadn't been for Jim, I would have quit right then thinking there was no way I could run 56 miles with such little training and a sore knee! Jim adjusted my workouts - got me onto the elliptical and cycling and monitored everything . By the time of my race, despite only having run a little of 18 miles for my longest training run ( they suggest double that for this ultra), I felt relaxed and confident that I could run. Jim coached me not only physically, but also mentally- encouraging me and explaining everything in the process. I give Jim the credit for getting me to the start and finish of the Comrades marathon in South Africa.

Aly is such a great nutritionist. The diet she has recommended me has worked wonders in only two weeks of adapting it to my everyday. She is lovely, well-spoken, knows what she is talking about, always present when you need her, always following up and concerned about you. I must say I was kinda uncertain of her professionalism before meeting with her, because she doesn't have her own office space in NYC so we had to meet at a random cafe, though it was worth it!!!
