Introduction: I feel that experience is a major factor when inspecting a home. I have been a full time home inspector for over 12 years and have performed thousands of home inspections. I also have a very unique and detailed reporting system. In addition I always take as much time as needed to explain my findings to my clients so that they fully understand the condition of the home I have inspected for them. What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Don't hire an inspector based on price alone. Take into consideration the inspectors training and experience. Most good inspectors are not the lowest priced. Home inspectors new to the business lack the proper experience to properly inspect a home. They typically have to charge less in order to attract customers.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
There are many licensed inspectors that have very little or no experience inspecting homes. When hiring an inspector always ask for their credentials.
