Patrick Micheal Wickham is the master, period. I have taken vocals from so many coaches who just tell you what to do, but this is the first time in my life I know how to do it! I have learned so much more in four lessons than in four years with those fools. To my RBGirls out there-stop lettin people tell you that only an R&B coach can teach you that way! That's what I thought until I sat down with a real technician. It's about the voice and the BODY, not about the sound. Two lessons and you'll see.

I am looking forward to continuing music lessons with David. I met him for the first time this week. I know that he will be able to achieve my goals. I was looking for a teacher that specifically can teach sight singing. I am more than confident that I'll be sight singing very soon. David is obviously is genuinely passionate about teaching. It is a career for him not just something done here and there. I'm lucky to have met him.

Annie was absolutely amazing. First of all, I'm not the most confident when it comes to singing, I enjoy singing, and I write songs, but I often feel like I couldn't deliver when it comes to singing them. That's when I started looking into getting some voice lessons to help with my technique and hopefully unlock a few things! Annie showed up right on time for our first meeting with a free consultation- (awesome! who gets free stuff nowadays in New York?). She asked me what I wanted to achieve and asked me to show her my songs (in which I was nervous about but got over it quickly because she was super open minded about it). She pointed out the good things I did in the recordings and then gave me some pointers on the parts I could work on further with her, perfect and yes please. We've had 3 lessons so far and worked on 2 songs to keep the lessons exciting. She gave me a few exercises to do on my own, helped with breathing techniques, and even advised on some dietary factors that would help keep my voice healthy. I highly recommend her if you are looking for someone who cares about your progress, listens, is non-judgmental (my biggest need for my shyness), and has a whole lot of knowledge to give!

Michelle is the piano teacher I wished for when I was a kid! Michelle is patient, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. One of the things my 7-year-old loves most about Michelle is that she lets her explore her musical creative side. Michelle has guided my daughter in composing her own music, tackling tough songs of her own choosing and in introducing instruments like the harmonica into her selections. Michelle is always upbeat and full of positive energy and as a result my daughter loves her music lessons.

Jimi is an amazing teacher. His versatility and depth of knowledge, not only of guitar, but of music theory make his style of instruction completely tailored to the interests of student. Jimi is a musician in his heart and his passion for music is tempered only by his intense humanity. There are no drills, there's no yelling. There's only an immersion in music and true scaffolding of skills. Additionally, you'll find yourself laughing and learning all the same in a way that breeds a true life long love of playing. My lessons with Jimi added a dimension to my life in knowing and understanding music that is truly like a 6th sense. He enablers me to shear the world in ways I never would have otherwise. Anyone would be well served to take lessons with him--or just to talk about music with him.

Steve has taught my daughter guitar for one year. He is an extremely talented and gifted teacher, able to convey the concepts at a level appropriate for the student. He also has a voluminous knowledge of music theory. Steve frequently stays after the lesson is over as he is truly interested in the student as a developing musician. I am certain you will find him a superb teacher.

I take piano lessons from Michael. He is a great teacher, particularly because he customizes his lessons to suit the students' skill levels and musical goals. He prepares material ahead of class and has a nice structured approach that I find helpful in developing a good feel for the piano. It's great that he focuses on important technicals like tempo, playing technique and theory, and his lessons are well-rounded, with just the right amount of time spent on each aspect. I like that he is flexible with both scheduling and the curriculum, and willing to tailor material to what I am interested in. He also helped me pick out an excellent piano within my budget, which was very helpful. Overall, a great experience, and definitely recommended!

My kids always enjoyed their piano lessons with you and actually practiced without me having to threaten them! Thanks to you, they both still play. Adam plays for the sheer enjoyment of it. He has a keyboard in his room in Virginia (he's still in the Navy) and puts on his headphones and plays! Thanks, Jonathan! Besides being a fantastic musician, you know how to inspire and teach. Steve is a really great teacher! He takes into consideration what I want to learn and what my goals are. His lessons have a perfect balance between learning music theory and basic skills, and working on songs that I’ve always wanted to learn. I feel like I am making progress on the guitar and learning a lot from each lesson. Also, he is flexible with scheduling which has been really convenient for me! I highly recommend Steve as a teacher!

Dear All, My daughter is 11 years old. She has been playing piano since she was 5. After one year of piano practice, it became apparent that it is her true passion. Since then she was studying under a wonderful piano teacher, who graduated from Juilliard. We met David when my daughter’s piano teacher decided to move to another state. He is a wonderful, totally committed, detailed educator. He has a very pleasant, polite personality, and is easy to relate to. My child loves having lessons with him. Since she is already playing Chopin Études and some more challenging pieces the lessons are very interesting and almost always touch on music theory topics. David would teach my daughter how to correct her posture, discuss the details in phrasing, show her how to practice effectively and much more. He sets the bar high, but is willing to give his best in order to bring the best in your child as a musician. What’s most amazing about David as a piano teacher, is that he completely understands how your child feels as a student and can give ideas and tips based on how he felt when studying piano as a child and a young adult. That quality is very rare and made my daughter enjoy piano classes with David even more. I would recommend David to anyone who loves music and would like to learn the instrument and to all of those who already do know how to play it well. David has a knowledge and expertise in music, is reliable and trustworthy and willing to listen to his student’s own ideas while working on their weaknesses. Piano is fun with David!

Sonia has made learning to play the piano so much fun for this 57 year old who hasn't played the piano in over 40 years. She makes it informative and a lot of fun. I'm learning music theory! I look forward to practicing because she chooses pieces which challenge me to practice but don't overwhelm me. But the best part of my lesson is watching and listening to her play the piece I'm working on. She's an incredible pianist. I HIGHLY recommend Sonia.

Jonathan Segal and I went to the HS of Music and Art together 'back in the day.' We remet at one of our reunions. I had toyed with singing jazz in recent years, totally unschooled. I asked him if he would teach me. I've been traveling to him from Brooklyn for lessons for a good part of this year. Our 'sessions' inspire me, keep me smiling. I don't practice much but, still, I am getting better as a singer and my dormant 'musicianship' is returning. He brings his musicality, marvelous skill and talent as a pianist, singer and musician to each lesson. Jonathan has a wealth of knowledge about all kinds of music and music theory, and, moreso, his teaching style is both encouraging and fun. He invites me to take musical chances, and each hour is infused with his great sense of humor. I feel so fortunate to have him as my teacher and recommend him highly." Marcy T.
