Sean spray lacquered my custom kitchen cabinet doors. Not only did Sean deliver an excellent result, he was also able to turn the job around quickly. When we ran into a minor obstacle prior to installation, Sean was available same day and resolved the issue in a very fast, professional and friendly way. His shop in Orange is conveniently close to my house and I will certainly work with Sean again. I can highly recommend him for refinishing your furniture/cabinets or for custom builds.
This was my first experience with Thumbtack and I was very pleased with Sylvain Marie, who responded very quickly to my request for someone to refinish an antique side table. I e-mailed some pictures of the piece as he requested and he soon responded with an estimate of the time required to repair and refinish a very battered table. He came exactly when he said he would to pick up the piece and returned it a few days earlier than I had told him I needed it. He stuck to his original estimate, but told me that if the job took less time he would charge accordingly. The table is now stunning and I am thrilled with his work and plan to hire him again for other refinishing of my antique furniture. I was especially impressed by his knowledge of wood types and methods of repair and also by the way he handled the old furniture with real gentleness and respect!
Arturo reglued and reupholstered 8 antique chairs, which were very unstable and in a couple cases broken (we had the pieces). He and his crew did a great job on them all, and in a timely way. I highly recommend him.
Bernard is very professional and very talented. He did a great job with an antique French chair as well as with contemporary shaker-design stairs.
Restored missing veneer piece on antique desk invisibly. Removed water stain from mahogany table. Restored chipped veneer and removed stain from walnut cabinet. Thoroughly professional--prompt, neat, quoted price before starting each job. Excellent!
Brian was professional, responsive, and did a great job refinishing some antique wooden theater chairs for us. He took pictures at every stage of the process and we're very excited for them to sit in our newly-renovated space.
Ely Lira reupholstered an antique (approximately 80-90 years old) recliner/glider chair for us. the antique piece belonged to my husband's grandfather and was in such poor condition we were considering throwing it out. The cushions were completely torn, the wood was scratched, and the springs were broken to the point where when you sat on the chair, you practically sat all the way down to the floor! That's where Ely came in! Ely came to our apartment to give us a free estimate. He provided us with a selection of fabrics and also a recommendation of a fabric store in our location. He came back to pick up the chair as well as the fabric (3 trips to our apartment by this point). He completed the work in about 2 weeks and the personally delivered the chair back to us. WOW, what can I say but the chair looks OUTSTANDING! I could never imagine that it would look as good as it does. The fabric looks perfect, the springs are springy, and even the wood has been de-scuffed. We are SO happy with the work. I would definitely recommend Ely's work to anybody looking to get an antique piece of furniture reupholstered.
Leon repaired and refinished several of my best pieces of furniture, including very old antiques. His work is very high quality. We discussed what he was going to do in a very amicable manner. I have very much enjoyed working with Leon and look forward to working with him again.
Kung did an incredible job refinishing our antique pine table. He came into Manhattan and picked up the table, and brought it back exactly when he said he would. He was friendly, and the work is impeccable. I would absolutely recommend using him to repair any furniture. The price was also very affordable. Highly recommended.
Darrel refinished a pottery barn table that had been damaged. We had the painted top stripped down and then restained. He did a fabulous job and I would highly recomend his services. Darrel went above and beyond and I am very happy with the finished product!
David was very knowledgeable, professional, and polite. Communication with him was very efficient. The workmanship in the finished product was excellent. A very damaged and unsightly dresser was beautifully restored-- better than new!
Just wanted to drop you a note to let you know that Kevin completed the work for myself and Ken. He did a wonderful job, was very professional and provided great customer service. I have to admit that I was very nervous about the process but at the end by the level of work and professionalism. Thank you for your help in solving our furniture problem. I would highly recommend your company. Shirin
one word.. IMPECCABLE !! I shopped around looking for anyone that can repair and refinish an antique rosewood dining table I couldn't dare to part with. Everyone I came across was all about numbers rather then gaining my trust. Steven was very kind and made sure it was done to my liking, he did an amazing job, and had it done 2 days before my house warming party. I've never been so amazed by anyone's work. Absolutely breath taking, down to the last detail. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to bring antiques back to life. Thank you Steven, keep up the great work!!!!
5.0 star rating 11/28/2017 Saul is nothing short of a miracle worker. We love our white leather sofa but over the past few years, the sofa because damaged and stained and looked very used and with guests coming for the holidays, we searched quickly to find a new sofa. No matter how hard I looked, I could not find the size and shape we were looking for and in my desperation, googled, leather sofa restoration. Fibrenew came up and when I saw the 5 star reviews and the before and after pictures, I could hardly believe them. I contacted Saul and after looking at some of my sofa pictures, he quoted me a reasonable fee for restoring my sofa. I thought it was worth a try since it was much cheaper than buying a new sofa, and I would get to keep the one I love. Saul is a delightful person and explained what he was doing. He comes to your house, so that you don't have the inconvenience of moving the sofa out of the home. After 6 hours of hard work, he called for me to come look. I could not believe it was my sofa. The color he used to fill in cracks and damage was spot on and although he uses a disclaimer to say he can make it look better, but it won't look like new....Well, he is wrong...He made it look better than new. I sent pictures to my sons and friends, and all those who know my sofa could not imagine that this is possible. All I can say, is if you have leather furniture that you love so much that its showing wear and tear, but you don't want to buy new, then contact Saul. He is an engineer by trade and has a meticulous eye for matching color and repairing damage. The sofa looks so new, that now I will have him come back to fix up leather chairs since they are looking shabby next to the gleaming sofa. Thank you, Saul.
amazing woman, amazing furniture, amazing prices! THE ABSOLUTE BEST.
